Bubble Burst - TBT Post

I'm feeling nostalgic about bubble ooze. Wrote a post about spam reporting awhile back and now out of the blue, I remember those error extravaganza months that the site had. It was really literally seeing a bubble burst right in front of your eyes.

===

It is fairly common that writers in the site are able to submit a lot of articles. Some even regularly submit the maximum number of articles per day. During the error extravaganza months, it was very hard to submit even just one article. I can still hear the collective sigh of all those disappointed members.

===

Not only was posting very hard. Every other activity in the site was equally hard to accomplish. You cannot like a post or even write a comment without encountering the 502, 503, 504 errors. Things have to be done multiple times before it gets through.

===

I remember that I went for a good week being only able to submit just one post a day. My numbers went down and my earnings went down. Interacting wasn't easy as well. Looking over to the site now and seeing the below par numbers that the posts get, I think it is error extravaganza all over again.

===

The race to redemption, hitting $50, really took a snag during those times. I guess the same can be said nowadays. I'd like to hear if there are PPers who still write at the 'b' site and how close you guys are to redemption. Hopefully, you guys hit the $50 and you get paid for it. You deserve it for putting up with that site.

===

Well, thinking back, it only gives me more appreciation for what we have now at Persona Paper. I do not miss the old site after what they did to the members. It does give me insight on how I do not want to be treated and what I want to see and experience in an online writing site and what must be done to ensure that it remains as such.

Call me crazy, but I'm still on there. I just can't seem to leave, even with all that has happened allen0187 .

That was some experience with Bubblews. I do not think that kind of experience we shall experience ever again. I earned quite a bit there.

I also remember the "power outages" at the site, but at least they paid properly back then (mostly).

I post and comment there. I have no illusions. I write quick and easy.

There are several who have, finally, hit the $50 mark again. Hopefully, we all get paid. It's a positive that is needed at this point. If not (there's at least one report of someone kicked off just prior to hitting the $50 and another of someone having redeemed in February who hasn't been paid), there will likely be another exodus, one that the site can hardly afford these days. You see, it's not an 'error extravaganza' that's keeping the numbers down at this point. People just are flat out not as active or interactive. Many are still members in terms of not having deactivated their accounts. However, they have not posted for awhile; in some cases, months. Only a very few of those are still 'actively' (sort of) Liking/Commenting.

Some suspicion exists that the promised changes have to do with the change Google has planned for the 21st in terms of altering their algorithms for 'mobile friendly sites.' Unfortunately, I fear that too many have been harboring illusions that the changes are intended to increase Views and Earnings. There has been no such indication of that intent from Corporate; quite the opposite in fact. However, it's been nearly a month since the membership has heard anything from Staff on the site, so who knows at this point what's going on.

For many, that last part is the key. Persona Paper Staff communicates. Bubblews Staff dictates. One 'style' is not, by definition, more right or wrong. However, the former is much better from a 'community management' standpoint than the other; particularly when your membership is generally much older than the Staff and, in some cases, appears to have much greater experience on the Internet.

By the way, in those days of the 502/504 errors, there were times when you couldn't even get on the site as the "Cloud" service didn't have a stored copy and the site couldn't be connected to. We don't have much of that anymore. A few hiccups here and there; but, every site has those. It's much smoother than it used to be, though not completely perfect.

I check my daughters wall there every few days to like her posts. Just trying to get her to 50 so she can cash out and be done

RegieEstioco wrote on April 16, 2015, 9:39 AM

I stopped writing in that since December 2014. I will only go back spending my time to write again in that site if they will pay me my pending $150.

scheng1 wrote on April 16, 2015, 9:59 AM

I'm still at $5, so there is no point in working hard. I will not reach $50.

CoralLevang wrote on April 16, 2015, 10:13 AM

I am still there, but mostly because I am nosy. I also deleted all posts with a couple of exceptions, and then I write an occasional post just to be active, though highly expect I will be deleted because of being unfair to the kids running it. After all, say something in disagreement and that's considered rude, unfair, and disparaging to many 20-somethings today. I have learned that from my students. I won't say (here) what I tell my students, when I hear that explanation. LOL

trufflehunter wrote on April 16, 2015, 10:26 AM

Actually, I have to admit I miss it too. There will never be another heyday like we had there. And earnings will never be the same on another site as crazy as that one!

trufflehunter wrote on April 16, 2015, 10:29 AM

All the best to your daughter! If she's close to 50 she should push for it indeed.

LeaPea2417 wrote on April 16, 2015, 11:22 AM

I have stopped writing there recently. I stopped two months ago when I hit 50. Literally today or the next day is when I am supposed to be paid. I am hoping I don't have to fight it by sending them a screen shot of my hard work that I put into it.

rosepetal wrote on April 16, 2015, 12:08 PM

I will admit, I finally gave up on the site. I figured it would take forever to get to $50. And it did you one some nice money in the good old days. But I believe they are now trying to correct the mismanagement of the site, but with it they are losing many writers.

valmnz wrote on April 16, 2015, 3:14 PM

I have been writing there still on and off , but it's over a week since I last looked in. I would like to reach redemption, I'm over half way now.

Kasman wrote on April 16, 2015, 4:33 PM

Ah, the good old days (not). Bubble Ooze had (still has) a lot of problems. Glad I'm not there any more.

Bensen32 wrote on April 17, 2015, 10:51 AM

I still write there maybe once a month, if that much, the earnings are so low it just is not worth the time there anymore. I have been there for a long time and just hope that some day it will get better but the more time that goes by the less I believe that things will ever change.

ViperGirl85 wrote on April 18, 2015, 12:36 AM

I still write over there, and here, both are better than CGP Gallery. They're still suspended and obviously had no intention of paying us.
I do wish the minimum redemption could be lowered at the Bubble World though. :-/
