Journal 04-14-2015

Good morning or whatever part of the day it is for you. Today is Tuesday April 14, 2015. The temperature is 59.9°F and the humidity is 55% at 5:16 a.m. PST (-8 GMT). Weather Underground shows sustained winds at 0 with gusts of 0.7 mph. The sky was overcast when I looked out this morning. Not stars, no moon. Weather Underground is predicting a 0% chance of precipitation and a high of 77 today.

YIPPIE! Got another Examiner review up. This one on an old book of Mesopotamian poetry. For the header pic, I chose an entryway from an Assyrian palace recreated in the British Museum excavated from Nimrud, the ruins of which that the wingnuts in ISIS just blew up, or so they’re bragging. They did it to keep us all from idolatry. As I understand it, the UNESCO people are calling it a war crime. I guess killing civilians for not being Muslims and slaughtering unarmed men wasn’t enough for them. They’re outraged about this.

So quiet in the early morning. There was a series of siren last night. I’m not sure what it was a about. My guess would be a fire. The sirens just didn’t seem to stop. They kept coming for about 15 minutes or so. It was pretty awful. I’m surprised there’s nothing in the online paper about it.

With regard to walking, I walked .16 miles yesterday, bringing my total to 15.87 miles, which leaves me with a mere 84.13 miles to go in the Challenge, with idea of walking .

Thanks for reading. Hope you and yours are all well and happy.

Writing schedule:

1. Continue Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil . Finish it and review it for Examiner.

You say there was a series of sirens last night .But no mention about it in the news.If I remember correctly, there was a helicopter circling over your area just a day before your wedding day.No news about it also.strange.Happy to know about your Examiner review.Keep up with the good work.

Thanks for the kind words. No, never did heard what happened with all those sirens. My first thought was a fire, but didn't see anything in the news. We live next to a bunch of hills. Sometimes, fires get going in the canyons in the hills and especially with the recent drought, the fires can spread quite rapidly.
