Please help...I am going crazy

Does anyone here know how to tackle this problem?

I am really at my wits' end. Whenever I access and , I am immediately redirected to a site with very explicit ads (Flirchi) or to Ilivivd downloads. The redirection is almost immediate and it very difficult for me to even read posts here or type my comments.

This does not happen when I read my emails or browse other sites but only with Tsu and this site. i have an adblocker but I have disabled it for these sites.

Does anyone know what is causing this trouble or anyway out of it. I have run free version of malwarebytes and spyware terminator after reading about them on internet but to no avail.

I can access Persona Paper on my without any trouble but using my desktop computer is my preferred way of being online.

Any ideas or suggestions would be most welcome. (in easy English)

Well, that definitely sucks. I wish I could offer helpful advice, but it sounds like you have already tried what I would have. Have you tried clearing your cache? The only other thing I can think of is uninstalling and re-installing your browser.

You can go to your accessories and go to system and then go to system tools and then to system restore. You can choose a date a bit earlier than the date from which you have been facing this problem. There could be a virus. Just try.

It happened that to me in my android phone but I cannot remember how I fixed it. Sorry.

I'm really sorry you're experiencing this problem. Your computer must have contracted a virus. I would do a system restore as bestwriter had suggested. Worse come to worse, you may need to reformat your hard drive. But before that you might want to go to several computer forums to get suggestions about how to get rid of the particular virus that is on your computer. Perhaps these people at the forums may have a better suggestion.

Thank you UmiNoor . It is so nice to see you here again. I will wait for some more suggestions and then apply them. But why only these two sites??

(1) You need to take a screenshot of your computer when these ads appear and contact support to ask them about it.
(Some ads are targetted at particular areas / locations, others at particular browsers or types of machines, so not everyone gets the same adverts.)
(2) On my computer, I can take a screenshot by clicking on the key that says "PrtSC" (This is on the very top row of keys, to the right of centre, next to the "F12" key. You can see it on this pixabay picture )

(3) Once you have the screenshot, it will be saved in your computer's short term memory, but you need to save it somewhere to be able to see it and email it. I usually open a graphics (or photo) program and use the "paste" (Ctrl +V) command to see the screenshot, then save it somewhere I can find it, such as "My Pictures".
(4) Click on "contact" at the top of the PP page and this will open a form that will go to EliteCodex and MaeLou . They will reply to you, with an email address where you can send the screenshot picture. They use that for checking which advertising company provided the malicious advert and will contact them to get rid.

I too have sent screen shots to 'contact'. I use the paint application to save.

Thank you so much for your help and detailed instructions. I will get to it ASAP. I really hope my problem is solved. I want to get back to my earlier pace here.

I am not sure what is causing that , it has not happened to me.

It's either a problem with the websites' ads or your computer has a virus. I also had a problem with Persona's ads leading me to suspicious sites before, but that hasn't happened recently.

I would recommend downloading "Microsoft Safety Scanner" to scan your computer. It usually catches things other programs doesn't catch.

I always have that problem when surfing PP on my smartphone but not on my desktop.

Also be sure to tell elitecodex which browser you're using. Internet Explorer is easier to hack than Forefox and Chrome, which is why my workplace will only let me access certain links via Chrome. One of our local sites is notorious for covering the screen in popups when accessed through IE, but is nowhere near as bad in Chrome.

I have AVG Anti-Virus on here which is free. I agree with the comments which suggest your computer may have caught a virus, and running something like that may well find and neutralise it. I occasionally find it's quarantined a malicious advert or attempted virus install on here. Also try clearing your cache by downloading and running CCleaner, which will remove lots of cookies and other things viruses can attach to.

Good to see you here UmiNoor Where did you disappear (lol)

I would also say try a system restore, but you could also try blocking the page through your browser settings.

AliCanary wrote on April 14, 2015, 11:53 PM

Wow, I have no idea--it seems like a technical issue that I wouldn't be qualified to address. I hope that elitecodex can help you here, and maybe he can suggest what you might do in the case of Tsu.

Our admins seem to be away. This is the longest they have gone without addressing an issue or responding to an email.Maybe they are taking some well deserved rest emoticon

I have added the links to my adblocker but they still pop up somehow. At the moment, I have enabled my adblock just to read and answer comments here.

peachpurple wrote on April 15, 2015, 6:14 AM

i am having the same problems, the pop up message is blocking my way, even virus alert came out. I had to quit using cellphone and use laptop instead

I'm still around bestwriter . I just got some things to sort out in the offline world. I miss writing and here I am again. Hope I can get my momentum back and keep writing even though I don't think I can be in front of the computer all the time.

It happened to me this morning. I had a PP page on and I was putting my comment there and suddenly it disappeared and a full page of another site presented itself. It was a page and not an Ad. I clicked back and I got the PP page. I have sent a screen print of this page to 'contact'. I am experiencing this for the first time.

Was it the Alibaba site? Flirchi, adcash, Alibaba and promoads are the most common ones that hijack my screen. I have done few of the things mentioned here but still no success in getting rid of them. bestwriter .

bestwriter wrote on April 15, 2015, 11:59 PM

It was a housing site - a full page site with a link and all

I have written a post on that you can read it at

Deema wrote on April 17, 2015, 3:41 PM

I never had this problem with any site before, must be your laptop or antivirus. I hope that by now you have the problem fixed.
