Something I'm Afraid Of....

Hey there, peeps. I'm in the middle of watching WWE Raw and finishing up my work, so I'm just doing a writing prompt for now. It's actually a good writing prompt though, as it states "Write about something you’re afraid of – explain why you’re afraid."

I could say my biggest fear is losing my loved ones -which it is- but I think that one is self-explanatory, so I'm going to go down a different route.

I am afraid to travel alone. I don't necessarily mean walking up the street alone, which does make me nervous and I won't do it as much as others. I'm talking about traveling further distances alone. I can suck it up if I need to go to the dentist or take the bus downtown, at least most of the time.

I don't like the idea of traveling to another state alone. I have missed out on several WWE-related things, such as meeting Randy Orton again, because of this fear. It is just not something I feel comfortable doing alone. I am afraid something bad may happen BECAUSE I'm alone; like a target or something... if you really want me to be honest about it. I feel the fear is not only a burden to me, but to others as well.

And there may come a time where I have to face this fear, and when I do, I'll handle it however I can. But I'll state it right now, telling someone to just "get over it" is NOT helpful at all.

But yeah, that answers my writing prompt for today.

Where I live, it's best for a woman not to travel anywhere alone. It's okay to go out alone in the day but at night, it can be quite dangerous. I think your fear is not unfounded. Women who travel alone are easy targets. Be safe.

I've been afraid to do it since I was a little kid. I'll always be safe, because I'll miss out on stuff before I put myself in an uncomfortable situation. It's unfortunate, but that's how I am. :-/

It is always better to be safe than to be sorry.

I couldn't agree more! I'll do it when the time comes for it; but if I can avoid traveling alone, then I will. It may be part of the problem, but like you said, it's better to be safe than sorry.
