Journal 04-11-2015

Good morning or whatever part of the day it is for you. Today is Saturday April 11, 2015. The temperature is 52.4°F and the humidity is 47% at 5:35 a.m. PST (-8 GMT). Weather Underground shows sustained winds at 0 with gusts of 0 mph. The sky was clear when I stuck my head out. I saw the moon and the Big Dipper. Weather Underground is predicting a 0% chance of precipitation and a high of 76 today.

Finally got the Examiner review up and realized I’d forgotten to add externals links. I did that this morning. I was bummed to find that it had garnered only 5¢, but that’s the way these things go. I might be able to shake another 3¢ loose from it tomorrow. I have another book I think I can to in the next day or two, but you know how these things have been shaping up. At this point, it’s more a matter of putting off my two week naughty notice.

We’re going to an Arlo Guthrie concert tonight. Mr. Siduri really enjoys these. It’s rather sad that very few of the people there are under 35. One guy in the row behind us once said, “Never trust anyone over 70. It’s a sliding scale.”

Watched a documentary on Scientology tonight called Going Clear that was based on the book I read last year. Profoundly sad is the first thing that comes to mind. People really believe they’re going to save the world and end up losing themselves. That’s not unique to Scientology, of course.

I still like the quiet of the early morning. It may be a little chilly to open the back door, but it’s peaceful.

With regard to walking, I walked .21 miles yesterday, bringing my total to 11.85 miles, which leaves me with a mere 88.15 miles to go in the Challenge, with idea of walking .

Thanks for reading. Hope you and yours are all well and happy.

So. Writing schedule. Do all the stuff I’ve been wanting to do for a couple of days now, particularly the Examiner review:

1. Review Poems of Heaven and Hell from Ancient Mesopotamia for Examiner.

2. Continue Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil .

3. Read and review “The Terrible Old Man” by H. P. Lovecraft

5 cents in a short time is a relatively good rate. You may see 30 cents by the next time you login.

Oh, would it were so! They update only once a day, though, so 3¢ is more likely. I'll take it. emoticon

It surprises me, yet at the very same time doesn't surprise me, that so many people can be duped by a "religion" invented by a third-rate science fiction writer. I guess the part that surprises me the most is the high profile names that have been conned into parting with millions of dollars to keep the inner circle of the pseudoreligion laughing all the way to the bank.

During the interviews, one of the tricks of the trade the emerges is during the e-meter readings, the "auditor" asks for/coerces personal information from the person being audited. So now they have that material hanging over your head and no scruple about using it, because they have the system that will save the world. It is sad and it works.

You say you are going for an Arlo Guthrie concert and that Mr.Siduri enjoys it.Did you enjoy the concert?

Yes, I did, though Mr. Siduri is the one who wants to go every year.
