Looking forward to a weekend at home

I've been away for the past five days to visit with my mother for Easter and take care of some ongoing family business. It was a good and productive trip, for the most part, but I am glad to be home now. I've been on the road far too much through March and I need some time to catch up on my own house and affairs!

For one thing, the weather should be good this weekend and I need to start doing some serious outdoor/yard work. It's been so col and then so wet and rainy that I am way behind in my usual spring gardening duties. I haven't even ordered my seeds yet to start my vegetable garden, I haven't cleared away the dead plants from last season, and everything looks a mess. Yet the plants are behind as well this year; the daffodils just beginning to bloom and the grass just sprouting and turning green over the past week while I was away.

Personally too I want to get back into my exercise routine as soon as possible. While at my mom's I get in a fair amount of daily activity just helping with the farm work (feeding and bringing water to the chickens, ducks and turkeys). But with all the time on the road lately, and then being under the weather with a bad tooth (another story) I haven't been to the gym in several weeks. Time to correct that.

Anyway, it is finally feeling as though is on its way, and so it is time to stop hibernating indoors. It's about time!

It's nice to have some time at home, especially when you haven't had much chance to do so.

There's no place like home, especially on a beautiful spring weekend when you finally get the chance to spend more time outdoors.
