Journal 04-09-2015

Good morning or whatever part of the day it is for you. Today is Thursday April 9, 2015. The temperature is 51.5°F and the humidity is 75% at 4:30 a.m. PST (-8 GMT). Weather Underground shows sustained winds at 0 with gusts of 0 mph. The sky is clear. I saw a bright waning gibbous moon and the Big Dipper when I stuck my head out this morning. Weather Underground is predicting a 0% chance of precipitation and a high of 75 today.
Yesterday was pretty uneventful. I woke up with a cold, hacking and sneezing. I didn’t feel bad, but nixed going to visit Mr. Siduri’s mom. No sense risking getting her sick. I did some writing and some reading and snoozed on the couch. I went to get breakfast and slept most of the day. I didn’t get a walk in. I probably should have.
Abominable telemarketer called and woke me up from my best nap, promising me hers wasn’t a sale call and she wasn’t a telemarketer. Uh-huh. The friendly little girl just had six non-personal questions to ask to see whether I qualified for a 70% rate reduction by going solar. If I had a dime for every time we got such a non-sales call from such a non-telemarketer… But I was half asleep and just decided to see where this was going. The first non-personal question was whether I was the homeowner. (If that’s a non-personal question, I hate to see what she considers a personal question.) I told her I wasn’t. (Technically, since we haven’t re-recorded the house deed yet, I’m not). The friendly little girl hung up on me. Ya just can’t please some people.
So. The critique group is tonight. I’m going for the first time. I’m nervous and I shouldn’t be. I’ve chose a section of Siegfried where he finds the gold but loses the ability to communicate with birds. It’s a little short. Or maybe I’ll add a bit. Or keep it short. Well, I have 12 hours to decide. The woman hosting the critique lives in a pretty area of town. Maybe I’ll leave an hour early and go for walk so I won’t be a bundle of nerves when I get there and be too exhausted to care when they rip my baby to shreds.
With regard to walking, I did nothing yesterday, bringing my total to 9.81 miles, which leaves me with a mere 90.19 miles to go in the SpringintoAction Challenge, with idea of walking 100milesin90days .
Thanks for reading. Hope you and yours are all well and happy.
So. Writing schedule. Do all the stuff I’ve been wanting to do for a couple of days now, particularly the Examiner review:
1. Review The Ancient Mesopotamian City by Marc Van De Mieroop for Examiner
2. Continue Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil .
3. Spend an hour with Siegfried. And get the six copies ready for the critique group.
4. Review “La Pulchra Nota”

That call was better tan one I got telling me I had a basement when I lived in a double wide. I invited them to please come show me the entrance since they knew more than I did about my home.

Double wide with a basement? That must have been some mobile home. Sure there wasn't a wall somewhere where you had so speak "friend" and enter?

those sort of calls certainly are annoying i am usually the one who hangs up first with those calls

I usually make sure that I politely ask them not to call back, for whatever good that does. The house phone and both our cell phone numbers are on the do not call list, again for whatever good that does.

They never came out and showed it to me.
I could have used the extra space with 4 kids in the house too

I know most of what is said will go over my head, Still I would have liked to be one of the critique group. Also, I will then be given a copy of what you have written.I have not read any older versions of ' Siegfried'. What I have read is the version of this' epic' by James Baldwin.Though I remember the stories of first four or five adventures, my memory of later ones are rather hazy.Well, let us know how it went.

I bet it would have been helpful.

How nice of you! I'm flattered that you would ask. I can send you the first chapter to look over if you like. It's coherent at any rate.
