Journal 04-07-2015

Good morning or whatever part of the day it is for you. Today is Tuesday April 7, 2015. The temperature is 51.1°F and the humidity is 42% at 4:20 a.m. PST (-8 GMT). Weather Underground shows sustained winds at 0 with gusts of 0.7 mph. The sky is partly cloudy. I saw the moon a few stars but could make out no constellations when I stuck my head out this morning. Weather Underground is predicting a 20% chance of precipitation and a high of 67 today. Hard to see at the moment where the rain is coming from, but I made sure my car windows were rolled up before going to bed last night.
We’ve been planning a trip Joshua Tree for a while. One friend couldn’t make it because of work then could then couldn’t now can. We were talking about going next week during the week to take advantage of mid-week emptiness, but with the friend now available, it look like we’ll be going on the weekend. It’s nice that he can come, but it means that I’ll miss the writer’s club meeting, which I enjoy. I missed last month’s because of my friend’s stepfather’s memorial. But this way we can catch up with her next week and show her a bunch of wedding pics.
And we finally got the marriage certificate. Boy, for $15, you’d think they’d print a better quality copy. Just saying. At least this has the seal and all the nifty little border thingies making it legal and official and all that. We made a copy of it, filled out some extra paperwork and sent it off to the union to get Mr. Siduri on my nice cheap insurance. It will make my monthly pension smaller, but the $400 and change monthly insurance bill goes away. Instead, I’ll be paying $120 for the two of us. That doesn’t include dental or vision, but neither did my old plan.
I have to come up with a way to get more writing done, whether that means a daytime trip to the library or something like that, I have to do it. I’ll never finish Siegfried at this rate. And I’ll never have enough material for the critique group, either.
With regard to walking, I did .66 miles yesterday, bringing my total to 9.01 miles, which leaves me with a mere 90.99 miles to go in the SpringintoAction Challenge, with idea of walking 100milesin90days .
Thanks for reading. Hope you and yours are all well and happy.
So. Writing schedule. Do all the stuff I’ve been wanting to do for a couple of days now, particularly the Examiner review:
1. Review The Ancient Mesopotamian City by Marc Van De Mieroop for Examiner
2. Continue Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil .
3. Spend an hour with Siegfried.
4. Review “Martians Never Die.”
5. Review “The Specter of Tappingtion”
