Trapped Under the Cat

Our cats are very affectionate and friendly, so whenever my husband and I are sitting on the couch watching TV, there is bound to be a cat on either my lap or his, and sometimes on both (we have two cats). Spencer, the boy kitty, prefers me and won't sit on his dad's lap. Naomi, the girl kitty, also prefers me (heh!), but is happy enough to sit on her dad when he is available.
Of course, once cats find a nice, comfy place, they settle in for a while. And a blissfully sleeping cat is too cute to disturb! So my husband and I have developed the perfect excuse to stay put and ask for favors from the other one: "Honey, can you grab the remote? I'm trapped under the cat," or, "Hey, can you get me a drink while you're up? I'm trapped under the cat!"
As silly as it sounds to be trapped under a ten-pound animal, those of you with cats will know what I'm talking about :)

I can relate to this post but our pet is a spoiled dog – Barbie the pekingese. She emits short barks when likes to be cuddled.

Oh yes, my husband uses this as an excuse all the time. I would too, if the cat ever chose to sit on me. Unfortunately for both me and the cat, I never sit still for long enough.

I don't have any cats but I think it is fun to be trapped under a cute feline friend.

Who would want to disturb a cat cozily sleeping on one's lap. I have been there!

Yes, our cat just decided to get up and free me!

My cat´s got lifted and placed down gently whenever I needed to get up for something, I wish I had known this trick before to get people running round for me

I owned a cat once, so I DO know exactly what you're talking about.

How about when a cat takes up residence on your lap and not only are you squirming after awhile, but getting warm because kitty is like a heater.

Yes cats do get very comfy and it can be hard to disturb them.

You share the remote? I don't get a look in without arm wrestling it off her...

Yes! Trapped under a cat! Cats who turn into ovens when they sit on you! So been there...

It's quite enjoyable to be trapped under a cat. And it is the job of ALL the humans in the house to make sure that the sleeping kitties remain comfortable, no matter how much inconvenience they cause their humans,
