More Site Updates

Hi Everyone, I wanted to post a few additional updates regarding the site. Nothing to major but just to put some things out in the open for everyone to see.

New Moderator

I want to introduce another new moderator we are adding to our team, Randajad_The_Traveller . Please take note when he comments on your post about a rule violation.

Recent Activity

So as everyone can see from the "Recent Activity" the number of notifications goes pretty far back. I still see entries from back when the site started over a month ago. Obviously there is no limitations to how far it goes back at this point in time. However, that will not be sustainable. There is no problem now but I think we need to put some sort of limitation on it. I don't think the number of entries is the ideal way to think about it, but more so how far to go back. So my question to everyone here, how long do you want to see your notifications go back? A week? Three days? I was thinking a week but wanted to open the conversation up.

Cashouts

We are currently in the process of updating our cashout system as it is very basic right now. Currently there is a single button (where you choose your payment method) and then one button to confirm your choice. It is then sent to us, we verify and send payment unless there is an issue. At which point we will contact you and we work out all the issues then send payment. Currently we are only accepting payments in $5 increments. You will not be able to cash out for $7, but $5, $10, $15, etc. Please note that we will only deduct coins from your account after payment has been sent, and only the amount worth the value at the current exchange rate. So if you have 1100 coins and cash out, we will send you $5 and remove 1000 coins from your account, leaving the other 100 for you to start the next cash out process.

We plan on changing this in the future, so I wanted to let everyone know about them now. The first change is we will be allowing you to specify how many coins you want to cash out at once. This will be a field that is available during the cashout process. Secondly, we are working on the specifics of offering small discounts for cashing out at higher values. For example, if you wait until you have $15 dollars worth of coins (currently 3000 coins), we will offer a discount of 10%. Meaning you still get $15, but you would only need to trade in 2700 coins. That is an example, and we do not know what limits or levels this will be offered but something we are considering.

Finally, I know that people are getting their payouts really quickly lately. However, this is still a manual process and we need to review all your posts before confirming your cashout. We may need corrections made before you can cash out. All of these are potential delays that could delay how long it takes to confirm your cashout is valid. This is why it is very important to heed the moderators warnings about the rules of the site. However, if you request a payment through PayPal we do want to ensure an immediate payout without needing to wait an additional few days for anything to clear.

Site Issues

Just in case everyone has not read the content from long ago, I want to reiterate that we are bringing this site and community to life via a RAD (rapid application development) model. We always want to improve the site and its offerings for our members, and we want to iterate the revisions to our system rapidly.

Please note that new features can sometimes introduce bugs. Please contact us via the "Contact Us" form above if you find any technical issues with the site not working properly. If we introduce a bug or issue into the system, we should be able to respond quickly enough to fix the glitch if it is within our power.

Referral Bonuses

I understand that many of you are questioning the referral bonus and the fact that you have not yet received your bonus. Due to the influx of new members we have fallen behind in confirming those and getting them out. Rest assured they have all been accounted for and we will be going through them in the coming days. With the new membership being restricted it will allow us to make some decent progress. We will post an update after we have processed all the referrals for you to confirm. Please keep in mind that the green check in the referral page only means that they have confirmed their account. A referral bonus is not processed until they make a single qualifying post. At that point, the referral bonus is valid and you will receive your 25 coins.

Conclusion

I just want to thank everyone for their support thus far. I look forward to the day of turning this into a sustainable community for everyone. As always, we welcome any and all feedback.

Thanks for the updates. As for how far back does the recent activity go, can we have the option to decide on it? The site will have a drop down menu and we can choose which one suits us. Something to that effect.

You guys are doing a great job! Keep it up.

thanks for the updates!

Thanks so much for keeping us in the loop. Regarding the time limit on notifications, I agree with the one week. That gives people time to catch up if they need to take a break for a bit. But it won't be so much that it's clogging things up and slowing things down.

Bensen32 wrote on June 11, 2014, 12:16 AM

When i read that first part I thought a week but then I thought what about people who take a weeks vacation to places that they really dont have the time or means to get onto the site. Maybe 2 weeks might be better?
As for the cash out at 5, 10, 15 and keeping the left over coins. Sounds like a good plan to me. I dont mind taking even amounts like that and I really like the idea of waiting and getting the discount.
Thanks again for the great communication. I know I can't say it enough

WOW! thanks for the updates! You guys are the best.

The referral bonus is nice but I'm not as concerned over it as I am wanting to invite active members. :D Also, I'd vote for notifications to go back a week. I love the breakdown of activity too. Thanks for that!

I have a question, since we're able to edit the source code in our posts, can we embed images (credited properly of course) and/or YouTube videos into our posts?

And the concept of the discount at $15, is his a discount applied to higher amounts too (e.g., $25? $35?)

Thanks for everything.

UmiNoor wrote on June 11, 2014, 12:40 AM

What about the option to delete the notification once it's been read and get it out of the list? We can mark it as read and then have it automatically deleted from the list. Is that possible to do?

LoudMan wrote on June 11, 2014, 12:51 AM

oooOOOOoooo...good question!

It's nice when the moderators and owners update their members. More power!

One week seems reasonable, but one thing I am already having issues with, after just one day's worth of adding connections, is that just as on bubblews, the new posts and all the other notifications all get lumped together, so it is very easy to miss comments and other interactions. It would be great if new posts were under some other tally, not in with the notifications about interactions with other users. Also, a cool idea that may not be feasible, I thought it would be cool if we had a mouse-over mini-profile viewer like facebook has, so that we can see easily without opening all the profiles of all the folks on our notifications which ones we are already following. Keeping track of which ones I have already followed back is already getting confusing, .

Wow, you are really on top of issues here. Continue the good work and let this business idea get daily improvements. we are with you my boss

Thanks for sharing this valuable information. This is the key of a treasure and i have noted what you wanted to tell. You just did a wonderful job dear....Nice to be your friend.

Oh well, I joined yesterday but am happy about your concern for us members of this community.

As for notifications, I wish we isolate somethings from others that is to say in the recent activities we can see everything including new posts made by people we are following.

I think for as long as , we act on such a notification that item disappears from the notifications immediately, I think this can be done for comments on our posts.

As for how far back, I believe 48 hours is enough, if we miss them after 48 hours it means we didn't login and act.

Or maybe we have a drop down to filter until 2 weeks ago.

It's good that this platform is RAD based however may I ask which server and client side programming languages are used and is the application currently on a single server or many?

wampamba wrote on June 11, 2014, 3:52 AM

Maybe something off topic, I should suggest, do you think it's appropriate and is better user experience to have the latest comments on top of the older ones?

As I can see that the newer ones go at the bottom, in face for me I missed reading some and I had to scroll down to realise.

LadyDuck wrote on June 11, 2014, 8:51 AM

Thank you for the updates, I joined today I have everything to discover.

SandraLynn wrote on June 11, 2014, 9:27 AM

Thank you for this important update. OMGosh I am loving the transparency. Just remember to breathe. Take breaks. Take help when offered. And don't promise more than you can deliver (which I haven't seen you do yet, just sayin'...you should know where I'm getting that ;) ) Anywho...WOW. thank you a trillion times a billion :)

Okay. I have to go clean a bathroom so I can come back here and become more addicted. Darn you all ;)

Thanks for all your time and effort in setting this up and especially for COMMUNICATING what is going on and what your plans are!!

BrianaDragon wrote on June 11, 2014, 2:00 PM

I'd say 1-2 weeks on the notifications. As someone here suggested, I'd love a mark-as-read option so I can tell what's been interacted with.

adjkp25 wrote on June 11, 2014, 2:49 PM

Communication is such an important thing in life but can be so easily overlooked. So far, in my limited time here, I have to say that I am very impressed with the communication.

Ruby3881 wrote on June 11, 2014, 4:52 PM

Thanks for all the info! I think a week's worth of notifications is a good number for those of us who may fall behind, or need to be away from the site for days at a time. I very much appreciate having been asked for my input, too!

I'm still very new, so maybe I'm just missing the place where referral bonuses are discussed. Is the bonus a flat payment or a percentage of some kind? I know that it's only paid once the person referred posts, but I didn't notice anywhere that the amount of the bonus was mentioned.

Ruby3881 wrote on June 11, 2014, 6:07 PM

Ah, I found my answer on the referrals page! Thanks for making things so easy to find here :)

log out and log in again and it will be marked as read

MaeLou wrote on June 13, 2014, 1:48 AM

There's an activity breakdown on the right hand side when you look at your recent activity. You can look at "new posts" or "followers" or "tagged" etc all separately.

MaeLou wrote on June 13, 2014, 1:51 AM

Check out the activity breakdown to the right hand side when you are in your recent activity.

MaeLou wrote on June 13, 2014, 1:53 AM

I don't think this will be a problem since elitecodex made Bubble Buddy for Bubblews. It's all just a matter of him finding the time to put it all together. I'm sure when it comes time to redo the notifications, it will be elitecodex doing it all
