Oh Well! Maybe Tomorrow!

I tried again today! No use,a waste of time again. The problem is that I have kept these Denims for years and years. Should I chuck them or persevere, in the hope that one day I can stroll around the trendy area where I live in my 60s Levi's.

I love them,I wore them when I went to see 'Creedence Clearwater Revival' in the 70s. I went to see Mick Jagger in them,I saw Paul Mccartney,I saw Elkie Brooks,I saw Ella Fitzgerald when wearing them, and my very special favourite I saw was Don Mclean-a special talent!!

As you can see I am not a dressy type, never really moved on from the early days and now my fashion time is back again with all the kids groaning 'Retro' when they mean 'Repro'or 'vintage'.

Can you still fit into your old gear ? Or are you ruthless and chuck stuff away?

I definitely can't fit into some of my old things. After three kids, I've gained a few points. Not as much as others may have after their pregnancies, but still enough that some of my old clothes won't fit.

I'm proud to say that I can still fit into my old gear. All the training and proper nutrition that I'm getting helps me keep in my ideal size.

I only have 1 set of denim pants – just one in my adult lifetime.

wolfgirl569 wrote on March 29, 2015, 10:40 PM

I cant wear my old clothes, but most of my stuff gets worn out first anyways

my old gears are too loose for me, I had lost weight. Keeping them and maybe might turn them into home shorts

scheng1 wrote on March 30, 2015, 8:43 AM

I doubt I have any old clothing. I buy based on functionality and when it is worn, I will throw away, and buy new one.

maxeen wrote on March 30, 2015, 10:05 AM

I bet you are a neat and tidy person.

maxeen wrote on March 30, 2015, 10:07 AM

It drives me mad that just that one inch is elusive to me.

maxeen wrote on March 30, 2015, 10:09 AM

maxeen wrote on March 30, 2015, 10:10 AM

I always make things from the ones that have really had it.

maxeen wrote on March 30, 2015, 10:12 AM

You are lucky then, you can get new stuff if you want.

arthurchappell wrote on March 30, 2015, 10:29 AM

I tend to keep hold of and wear clothes untuil they disintegrate - My mum used to throw my old clothes away on me which I utterly hated

I, too, saw Ella! It was in a smoky jazz club on Bourbon Street in the French Quarter of New Orleans. I wasn't in jeans, though.

maxeen wrote on March 30, 2015, 12:21 PM

Me too! I love the memories..

maxeen wrote on March 30, 2015, 12:30 PM

I saw Ella in Ronnie Scotts 1974,lovely memory.

I had some things in my wardrobe for years, trying to convince myself I would fit in them again at some stage, but instead like Topsy I jest growed ! Chuck em love and stop beating yourself up over them.

crowntower wrote on March 30, 2015, 3:42 PM

Lol! They are so big in me now, that I can't fit to it. I have loss a big weight, I am second be skinny. I think stress did it to me, I can't even sleep properly, I always thinking of things, and of what is gonna happen in the next day... I am so stress.

Haha! No chance ! I'm a Cancerian ! We do not give in ,not ever, especially over a twiddly little inch -soon get that away in the summer (where is that).

maxeen wrote on March 30, 2015, 7:34 PM

Oh dear! Sorry about that, try some yoga in the evening. If you paint you will dream of beautiful, relaxing colours. keep well.

trufflehunter wrote on March 31, 2015, 12:08 PM

If you're hesitating, better not to chuck first or you might regret it later!

maxeen wrote on March 31, 2015, 12:40 PM

I've done that often! Easy to get rid ,not so easy to get back eh!

"Old Soldiers never die. They just fade away' I could say that about clothes. I have loads of them all in good shape. I never have the heart to discard them and I notice they get back into fashion. So wait. emoticon

maxeen wrote on April 4, 2015, 8:16 AM

I agree with that! If they have had it I usually make something else out of them..

bestwriter wrote on April 4, 2015, 8:56 AM

Don't see much of you these days.

maxeen wrote on April 4, 2015, 4:47 PM

You sweetie! Haha, the lovely parks here are keeping me engaged, too many ice-cream parlours which serve as my reward for doing the circumferance of the big parks.

ViperGirl85 wrote on April 5, 2015, 12:19 AM

It depends. Some I can still fit into, and some I can't.

Fleur wrote on April 5, 2015, 6:23 PM

I only throw things out (or send them for recycling) when they are actually worn out. if they are wearable I generally keep them. I still have clothes I wore when I was at school 30 years ago!

maxeen wrote on April 5, 2015, 7:42 PM

After my own heart!!

maxeen wrote on April 5, 2015, 7:43 PM

Haha! Is it the top things or the bottom things ??

rosepetal wrote on April 9, 2015, 12:01 AM

I know for a fact that I could never ever get into my old things that I wore in the 70s. I usually hang on to my jeans as long as I can. Drives my hubby crazy. But I like comfort.

AliCanary wrote on April 12, 2015, 5:07 PM

Oh, you've seen some great performances! I usually wear my jeans out and have to chuck them before too long. I love the picture--it looks like there is a sea monster swimming in that pavement!

maxeen wrote on April 12, 2015, 5:27 PM

I love it ! It is South West France,Don Mclean was easy the best....

msiduri wrote on April 12, 2015, 5:33 PM

Am I envious! Would love to have seen some of those concerts. About the clothes: I wear them until I'm not fit to be seen in public in them, then they get donated—not because I think another human being would want to wear them (please. Nobody's that poor) but because I know material can be recycled.

maxeen wrote on April 12, 2015, 6:00 PM

I don't think many people can, there is always wishful thinking though.

maxeen wrote on April 12, 2015, 6:03 PM

I don't think I could part with the levis of the 60s or the wranglers, which were always mens by the way.

msiduri wrote on April 12, 2015, 6:08 PM

That would be tough. But if they were worn so badly that I couldn't go out in public in them, then keeping them would be hanging on to a relic. Best to send them on to some place where they might be of some good.

AliCanary wrote on April 13, 2015, 2:23 PM

After my own heart. I truly believe that recycling can save the planet (that and solar power).

maxeen wrote on April 13, 2015, 4:34 PM

Yes,but I love my relics..
