Journal 03-29-2015

Good morning or whatever part of the day it is for you. Today is Sunday March 29, 2015. The temperature is 58.9°F and the humidity is 87% at 5:25 a.m. PST (-8 GMT). Weather Underground shows sustained winds at 0 with gusts of 0.7 mph. The sky was mostly overcast with a little patch of blue when I stuck my head out. Weather Underground is predicting a 0% chance of precipitation and a high of 84 today.

Mr. Siduri and I went to the beach yesterday for lunch at a restaurant at the edge of the pier. It was crowded (particularly in the ladies’ room) but the food good and the view nice. I got naughty and had a black cherry shake. It didn’t last long. The rip current warnings didn’t seem to keep people out of the water. The surf was high and the line of surfers long. Hard to recall that a week before, we were getting married.

My little sister’s birthday is Saturday.

I’ve been debating about whether or not to write a post about this: My abusive alcoholic stepfather, with whom I’ve had nothing to do for 30 years, died the day before my wedding. I’m not mourning him, obviously, but I’m not happy, either. Mostly, I’m relieved. The story is that he was out driving, started having a heart attack, pulled over and died. He was 82.

I’ve fallen way behind on the reading and writing I wanted to do, even with scheduling a couple of days off around the wedding. I should have taken the whole week off, I guess.
