Back to the Library

I began using my local county library several months ago. I had not been active in using a library system for several decades.

I remember going to the library when I was a young child. My mother would take me and we would pick out several books each week. By the time I was an teenager, I still loved to read, but books and the library had begun to lose their appeal after my father, "required" me to write 12-page "term papers" on topics of his choice during the summers of 1967 and 1968.

I received notification (once again) that Boardwalk Empire: Season Two is back in and on hold for me. I picked it up once before and tried to watch it, but the first two disks were bad, so I had to return it on Monday.

I also put the novel We Are Water (author, Wally Lamb) on hold and it is now available. I have read two other novels of his and really enjoyed them.

So, I am back to the library in a couple of hours. Hopefully, the DVD set will cooperate.

I am learning to enjoy them again. I do not, however, enjoy the fact that they have become noisy. I loved the quietness of the library when I was a kid.

Before I hang out always in a library but now it is losing its appeals to me specially when the librarians are too snob and too grumpy to talk with... lol! Have a great day I hope you enjoy all the books your going to read, and for the movie you want to watch. God bless.

I'm learning! I'm learning! And getting it, I might add!

If I may be so bold to say, this is not behavior simply of librarians. I think people, in general, are losing their appeal with me. LOL

You know what? That's true! I do remember when libraries used to be quiet. But remember that I mothered 11 children. Blocking out noisy people is one of my "specialties". :)

And for the last few years I thought my own local library was the only one that was so noisy! I miss the quietness, too.

I rediscovered my local library after the economy tanked in 2008 and my income took a major hit. I'd become way too addicted to bookstores.

I wish I had time to read a real book again. I have felt too crumby to read anything today except an anthology of short quotes on writing by well-known writers. I'd like to read a novel, but don't have time to start and finish in one day.
