Hey Ho, It's HBO!

I was recently offered a deal from Time Warner Cable in the wake of my otherwise EXTREMELY crappy experience with them http://personapaper.com/article/26825-time-warner-cable-almost-made-me-cry that I could get faster internet as well as a cable bundle that actually included HBO for about $30 less per month. I'm no dummy, and I jumped right on that.
Well, I'm KIND of a dummy, because I promptly FORGOT that I was going to be getting HBO. It was not until our DVR mysteriously started taping a random movie from HBO that I realized we actually HAD it, and so for the past few weeks, we have been movie-watching fools. I also am enjoying the comedy programming, like One Night Stand stand-up shows, and Real Time with Bill Maher . I am looking forward to watching Game of Thrones , as well.
I had resisted subscribing to any movie channels from the cable company, because even though there are about eight different HBO channels, it still cost about $16.95 a month, which is twice as much as Netflix, anyway. However, since I actually SAVED money with this deal, I'm pretty stoked. Also, I'm hoping to write some more movie reviews for you here, so I guess we can look forward to that!
According to Wikimedia Commons, the HBO logo is in the public domain, so hey

I had to Google HBO to find out what it was! Glad you're enjoying your less expensive package and look forward to reviews.

Sounds like you got a good deal there. BTW just because an image is in the public domain doesn't necessarily mean it's free to use. Company logos are usually trademarks and, although free of copyright restrictions, may still be covered by trademark laws. The situation is very complex - go here: http://goo.gl/Yau0sL for further information. I'm not saying you shouldn't use this image but it would be prudent to bear this is mind.

There actually is a cautionary note on the Wikipedia page about that...I definitely don't mind changing it, if the admins don't feel comfortable about it.

I think it depends to a large extent on what use you put the logo to. If you were an apple grower you couldn't use the Apple Computer logo to sell apples but your post is about HBO itself and maybe that's OK - I really don't know.

I don't have that kind of cable hehehe, and as for my internet I am just using a prepaid broadband that I hope will give me peace to run faster. But anyway sometimes it runs faster sometimes it did not. But it is okay.. I can watch in here through the internet, just staying away from the sites that has viruses, God bless.

It can be a great big time suck, but definitely not more so than the internet, lol

I was able to drop from $178/month to 148, so I was pretty happy about it. That's just for internet and cable--we have a landline for the phone.

Sometimes my internet service works better than other times, too!

Your last line about the logo made me laugh,
I don't even have enough time to watch all the movies I want to watch on Turner Classic Movies - if I had HBO, too, no one would ever see me again!
