Captcha Challenge "meddling kids"

I got the Captcha "meddling kids", which made me laugh. Some of you will know instantly where that comes from, and for the others, I will help you out: Back in the 70s (I know; ancient times), there was a cartoon on Saturday mornings called Scooby Doo that featured a group of young paranormal investigators (otherwise known as ghost hunters) who traveled around in a customized van called the Mystery Machine, accompanied by their friend Shaggy and Shaggy's dog, a talking Great Dane named Scooby Doo. When we were kids, we just thought Shaggy was kind of lazy and silly, but of course as adults we understand that Shaggy smoked a lot of wacky tobaccy.

Anyway, this intrepid band of youths would be summoned to investigate claims of hauntings or shenanigans supposedly perpetrated by ghosts, ghouls or monsters, and they would use their sleuthing skills to reveal that it was actually Old Man Johnson, got up to look like a monster so that he could scare people away and somehow make a tidy profit with his ill-gotten gains. And frequently the last line he would exclaim while being led away in handcuffs by the police was, "And I would have gotten away with it too, if not for those meddling kids!"

So, here's to the Saturday-morning cartoon-watchers among us who enjoy that amusing little flashback!

Still watch Scooby Doo with my granddaughters, never thought Shaggy was into the wacky baccy, just lazy and permanently hungry!

And, the most powerful lesson I ever got was, the monsters- they're always just other people. JUST. OTHER. PEOPLE.

Ah, yes. There's a famous misanthropic quote that "Hell is other people." Seems to fit here.

Sometimes the captcha words are coincidental to the topic.

LOL. I remember that show too. Has it really been that long ago? Ancient times, indeed. It's been a long while since I've last seen it then but I remember that phrase "those meddling kids". LOL. emoticon
