Need Some Positive Vibes Sent My Way

Good morning, Persona Peeps!
Another Tuesday and I am getting ready for the workshop I have for this week. It is another separatee class--three in a row. I am not sure I am up for this task this week after getting beat up (figuratively speaking) for the last couple of weeks.
This will be another group of the "youngsters," most likely, considering the location. These tend to be the first-term aircraft carrier folks, who seem to be so angry at the Navy and anything they feel represents the military. Perhaps, it is just a mark of being in one's early to mid-20s.
Please send me some positive energy this week. I am feeling rather drained and need to keep my heart open to these "kids." Though they can be a "tough" group, they still need me to believe in them.

Have you read Fear Is the Ultimate Liar ?
Did you read about when I walked a tightrope with my eyes closed ?
Have you learned about how I tried to meet President Ronald Reagan ?

Those kids should give you energy instead of sucking life out of you.

I agree, and I'm in the process of considering what other things I can do to get that energy. However, today as it is, I have to work.
And there has been a shift in what this particular demographic considers appropriate behavior than someone who is 2.5 times their ages.

Positive vibes on their way. I have some music that I turn to in this situation, like lift us up where we belong by joe cocker, something inside so strong, by labi siffre and fame by irene cara.

I share here simply to ask for some bolstering up from friends, when things feel tough.
2This week's class seems to be a bit more receptive and engaging than the last three classes. They are a bit more mature (average age 26-28 v. 21-22), which may account for some of that. I know that it is difficult to sit through three days of mandatory class that some think have no value to them, as they think they have jobs lined up, or are going to go to school and don't think they need this now, etc.
Oh, and to Alexandoy ... I do not into that classroom with anything other than a smile on my face. To suggest otherwise, you don't know me well.

Put on a Momma face, let them know you understand how they feel and that sometimes you feel that way too. What will happen if you interact with them in a different way and don' necessarily achieve what you set out to do?

Oh, I hope I am not too late, here you go, positively charged vibes.

Sometimes, there is just a group that I get that has a dynamic that is difficult. Most of the time, I am fine with them. I am very open with them and allow them to speak their minds (within reason). I just had a rash of highly negative groups. This one is much more balanced in people.
As far as set out to do, I must deliver the curriculum. Hardest part (for me) is when they refuse to be open to learn it. I know I cannot change them. My hope is that I can somehow influence them to see that they all do have value, even when they don't feel it.

I'm sending you positive vibes and hope they help. I''m not sure what to advise here. I think sometimes the age gap can't be bridged successfully until years have past and the youngsters "mature", broaden their viewpoints and develop an acceptace and tolerance of others.
