I Think the FOPP Challenge Is Losing Steam.

Our founder seems lost to us, as far as I can tell, though he still logs in about once a week. He tweets to himself and retweets on Twitter, but that is the only place I've seen him active lately. Since those actions don't require many keystrokes, I'm still wondering if something is wrong physically that keeps him mostly offline.

In any case, our membership is growing and most new members still haven't heard of the Friends of Persona Paper Challenge. I am getting to the place where I feel somewhat hypocritical for continuing to use the tag , since I can't keep the challenge commitments anymore to post once a day and be active on the site for at least 15 minutes a day. There's just too much going on in life.

I anticipate not being here much at all between now and tax time. Meeting my blogging commitments will take all the energy I have what with more medical appointments and meetings every week. I'm going to have to concentrate on the activities that bring me the most reward for time spent. So this is the last time I expect to use the FOPP tag until Jason returns and rallies the troops. We are more established now, and I think the challenge may have outlived its usefulness. Maybe it's time for a new challenge in a few weeks when we see where we are then.

What do the rest of you FOPPers think?

I think that FOPP has had its day. I have stopped tagging articles with . Most of us do what we can when we can and that's all there is to it.

I am a newbie with my first post and this information is vital to me. As what I had posted - I was traumatized by the non-payment of writing sites.

It could be worth tweeting our founder directly to ask if he is continuing

I must have missed this post and challenge as I have never heard of it. I do not write here daily but I am usually active here daily. I am sorry to say that I can't always write but life gets in the way. Hope to see you soon.

While I realize that change is a constant, I am not always the first to embrace it when it happens. I miss &suffolkjason; his energy and positivity are so nicely contagious. I don't know that I feel the FOPP challenge requires disbanding as much as renewal and getting the message of the challenge and goals out there to the many who have not yet heard of it.

It's true that I've not done much toward the goals of the challenge myself in the recent past, but I don't think that makes the goals any less laudable.

Very good point. For most of the FOPP members, it has become of way of life.

BarbRad wrote on March 23, 2015, 12:37 PM

I am writing a new post to answer your questions. Jason was a regular writer.

BarbRad wrote on March 23, 2015, 12:38 PM

I think you are right.

BarbRad wrote on March 23, 2015, 12:40 PM

I will be posting more about this today. Jason was an ardent and enthusiastic supporter of PP until October 1. I don't think his absence is caused by anything related to Persona Paper or its policies.

BarbRad wrote on March 23, 2015, 12:41 PM

I tweeted him at least a couple of months ago and I emailed him. No answer. I suspect he is unable to answer.

BarbRad wrote on March 23, 2015, 12:42 PM

My next post will explain the challenge and its founder.

BarbRad wrote on March 23, 2015, 12:43 PM

I am writing a post to introduce Jason and explain the challenge.

BarbRad wrote on March 23, 2015, 12:44 PM

I suspect life is what got in Jason's way. Jason has been gone since October 1 except to log in. See my next post.

BarbRad wrote on March 23, 2015, 12:45 PM

That's what matters most, though you will earn more if you also post.

BarbRad wrote on March 23, 2015, 12:46 PM

See my next post. I have an idea.

Remember, the FOPP guidelines are just that, not rules. I think they are there as a reminder of ways to make the site and the members more successful, but all we can do is our best. I have been really, really good about remembering the FOPP tag every time since I've been Secretary, and maybe just having that gets people interested enough to click and learn. I guess suffolkjason is conducting a long-term experiment to check passive income, but it would be nice to have him participating regularly again.

See my next post about the new challenge and put some legs on that idea.
