Another Ad Revenue site Goes Down

When I first started working online, I was very excited to write articles. I love to read, and have always aspired to write in any sort of capacity. I started working online in November. To gain some confidence and drum up some enthusiasm, I vowed I would start writing in the New Year. To get me set up and ready for the New Year, I registered with the now beleaguered Bubblews . It must have been around the same time that the site started experiencing problems, unbeknownst to me.

In the New Year, true to my word; I registered with Elite Visitors , CGP Gallery , Linker Zone and Persona Paper. Since the beginning of the year, we have so far seen the demise of all but Bubblews (well, it’s hanging by the thread, but it’s still up) and Persona Paper.

Elite Visitors disappeared and re-surfaced as Best Writers . When everybody else migrated over to the new site, I was very hesitant, because I feared the same thing could potentially happen. News coming in states that the admin over at Best Writers have issued a communication confirming that the site has decided to shut shop because things are not going well. Furthermore, they have asked people if they would be willing to write for free!

If you were in that position, would you write for free?

I think the options are to write for free now and hopefully get paid later, or have the site go away completely. Both suck, but one more than the other.

Nope I have an account there but removed the 6 or 7 articles that I had written.

No, I would not write for nothing just so they could earn money.

I already do plenty of writing for free, thank you. It isn't that I object to writing for free, but I will not let my talents, such as they are, used to make THEM money without them sharing it.

It seems a fair few are writing articles of some length there for free. Whether they can save the site, I don't know. It may just be too new. I suspect a site needs to be bigger to create the revenue they need. I could not write there because of the adverts that seemed to come with the site, but I do think the admin are genuine and would probably written a few free articled there.

In the past I was a member of several sites where I wrote for free. I was there because I enjoyed writing and because I enjoyed the interaction with the other members. I wouldn't write for free on a site like Best writers, I would prefer to find a better site.

Luckily for the site, it has a few loyal writers who are willing to stay on and keep it going. I think someone even offered to donate money!

I feel like some people were being a bit judgemental when a lady said she wasn't happy to write for free! But I'm almost certain some people were too chicken to come right out and declare themselves out, for fear of being attacked.

I'm the same, but I hate being made to feel guilty. The thing that's worrying is, this could be indefinite!

I really like the man of the cloth, RexTrueLove. I think that's what sold it to me. It gave me the assurance that the site was kosher. I just worry that someone may be taking him for a ride, as they seem to use him as the mouthpiece! i don't see anybody else showing their face.

There is already a enough places to write for free while making someone else money like facebook. So not going to do it places like that. But she should have been allowed her opinion

I won't write for free anymore. I have spent my life working for other people.
