Mildred the Cat is not a kitty witty

Howdy everybody. I hope you are all well. I am good, pretty good. I have a repeating issue to bring up because it is repeating again. It is about my mom.

My mom has this thing about calling me Mildred Kitty Witty. I have written about this before but the problem persists. I have asked my mom not to call me Mildred Kitty Witty. I prefer Mildred at home and Mildred the Cat when in my professional role.

My mom says she just can’t help it. She figures calling me that silly name is ok around the house and she promises she won’t ever call me kitty witty in public. I’m not sure I trust her. She sometimes gushes over me, about how cute and wonderful I am, and I know she’s just one slip away from letting it slip.

I’m Mildred the Cat, writer, sage and Chair Cat of Peaceful Relations for the Professional Cat Bloggers Association. I must retain my dignity and my credibility. Humans and felines both must believe what I say and trust what I do. No one is ever going to believe or trust a kitty witty. Really.

Guiness, dear Cat ( OldRoadsOnceTraveled ), I know you understand exactly what I’m saying here. You’ve posted a few times about how your mom calls you things like “You’re such a good kitty” and “You’re something else” sometimes. Neither is proper or dignified. You are Guiness the Cat, world-renown intellect, writer, Founder and President of the Professional Cat Bloggers Association. You are not just any cat and neither am I.

Anyhoo, I will continue to try convincing my mom to act more appropriately. In the meantime, it's time for a chicken treat. I've earned it.

Till next time, Mildred the Cat, signing off and sending you purrs, paws and high fives.

Lol! I think Mildred you cannot get that out fro your mom that easily, specially when she is missing her little kitty, even I (crowntower here by the way) ...can't stop my mom calling me by my pet name that she has given me... because no matter how we grow old and be the best we can be... we are still their little baby... heheheh. God bless. Your mom is just adoring you so much... and also you Guiness.

LindaCPearson wrote on March 18, 2015, 3:08 PM

You're right. I know my mom just can't help it sometimes and she really does adore me.

crowntower wrote on March 18, 2015, 3:12 PM

But I know the pain too hahahaha... just endure a bit, i hate it too when my mom call me by that name in front of my friends... hahahaha...

Far's I'm concerned, Guiness is 'Guiness the Black' and you are 'Ma'am'. Does that suffice? Haven't come up with one for wolfgirl569 's Gizmo yet but I'm sure I will.

wolfgirl569 wrote on March 18, 2015, 4:59 PM

Mildred Bunny the Doberman here. It is not any worse than being called Bunny Boo Boo. My mommy says she does it because she loves me.

LindaCPearson wrote on March 18, 2015, 5:00 PM

Ma'am or Madame Chair Cat - both could work - anything but Kitty Witty!

OldRoadsOnceTraveled wrote on March 18, 2015, 5:01 PM

Dearest Sweet Princess Mildred--I mean, Ms. Mildred the Cat, writer, sage and Chair Cat of Peaceful Relations for the Professional Cat Bloggers Association:

(Sorry. Sometimes I forget to keep it professional in public.)

I know exactly where you are coming from. I am not a Something Else, and I'm certainly not a BayBoo. (What IS a BayBoo anyway???) I can live with Prince Charming in an informal public setting, but Sweet Punkin is pushing it. Kitty Witty? Oh, the horror. You poor sweetykins.

I don't understand why humans can't grasp the importance for writers of keeping a professional impression. We are serious literaturizors here, trying to make a living and keep pâté in the kitty dish.

Sincerely, your Prince Ch--um, I mean, Guiness the Cat, President, Professional Cat Bloggers Association.

LindaCPearson wrote on March 18, 2015, 5:02 PM

Yikes! Dear poor Bunny - Bunny Boo Boo is at least at bad at Mildred Kitty Witty. Boo Boo just doesn't fit a big impressive Doberman. What is you mommy thinking?

OldRoadsOnceTraveled wrote on March 18, 2015, 5:04 PM

P.S. Oh, my goodness! I got so bent out of shape about the indignation you have to endure being called Kitty Witty that it slipped my mind to tell you how much I love, love, LOVE that picture of you. You're so purty. Sincerely, your sweet BooBear, Guiness the Cat

LindaCPearson wrote on March 18, 2015, 5:15 PM

Dearest BooBear Guiness - thank you so much for the compliment regardng my picture. My mom took that of me last summer when I was full-haired and just before I got my annual summer lion hair cut. I look much bigger when full-haired, as my hair is about 3-4 inches long. Without all the hair, I'm pretty tiny, as my other pictures show.

P.S. I think when we correspond personally, and because we are somewhat "involved", I think we can use endearments such as BooBear and Prince Charming and SweetyKins, don't you?.

This is Spencer the Cat. I borrowed my mom's computer to respond, because this is a very familiar subject for me. My name is perfectly respectable, but Mom has about a million nicknames for me, including Spencer Pie, Spoots, Spootie Pie, Spoots Baboots, Spootseleh, Pookie, Pookie Pie, Pookitty, the Fluffster, Captain Fluffo, McFluffy, McFussy and Action Cat, which is the ONLY one of those things that doesn't make me cringe to hear . I think she's got some sort of mental problem, but I humor her because she obviously loves me. You might just have to remember where the numnums come from and tolerate the silliness.

LindaCPearson wrote on March 18, 2015, 6:48 PM

Dear Spencer the Cat. How awful. I feel your pain, although I must admit I did chuckle a few times over some of the names, especially Spoots Baboots. What makes all this even worse is that Spencer is such a dignified name and I'm sure the name suits you purrfectly. To be reduced to Fluffo or McFussy or Pookie borders on cat abuse. You do have a point though. Numnums figure into the equation and I'm sure your mom knows that and will continue with the name-calling. I wish you luck and I'm sure Guiness will too once he reads this. Your friend, Mildred the Cat.

Mildred wolfgirl569 here, I am sure your mom means well with Kitty Witty just as I mean it as a term of endearment with Bunny Boo Boo

Kasman wrote on March 18, 2015, 7:26 PM

I'm not at all sure if the word 'dignified' can be applied to a creature which brings up hairballs at regular intervals!

LindaCPearson wrote on March 18, 2015, 8:30 PM

Dear Kasman - It's Mildred. When I joined the Professional Cat Bloggers Association (PCBA) and appointed myself Chair Cat of Peaceful Relations, I had you in mind. I still haven't lost hope that with due diligence, patience and good will, I will eventually change your mind about cats in general and the members of the PCBA specifically. I will continue on with hopes you'll come over to our side one of these days. Until then, I'm extending the olive branch and sending an extra bunch of purrs and high fives your way.

Dearest Mildred, Is that all? I get called Fraidy Cat which is such an insult. I am very brave. Love from Freya, the Catblog Cat. Chair Cat of the Professional Cat Bloggers Association and Slayer of Five Squirrels and two Huge Water Rats.

OldRoadsOnceTraveled wrote on March 19, 2015, 12:12 AM

Dear Spencer the Cat,

This issue appears to be widespread. I'm going to confer with Mildred the Cat and Freya the Catblog Cat at the next meeting of the Professional Cat Bloggers Association. I think we need to pass some sort of resolution to express our immense disapproval of this embarrassment.

Sincerely, Guiness the Cat, President, Professional Cat Bloggers Association

OldRoadsOnceTraveled wrote on March 19, 2015, 12:20 AM

Dear SweetyKins,

Yes, but let's don't tell anybody. We have reputations to protect. You know how the paparazzi is about celebrity gossip.

Sincerely, Prince Charming BooBear

OldRoadsOnceTraveled wrote on March 19, 2015, 12:22 AM

Dear Freya the Slaya (I made that up myself),

How dare Human 1 call you Fraidy Cat! Anyone who slays five squirrels and two huge water rats is a hero!

Indignantly, Guiness the Cat

peachpurple wrote on March 19, 2015, 7:56 AM

mildred sounds better than mildred witty kitty. My cat hates when she is called OUT, she prefer MEOW

LindaCPearson wrote on March 19, 2015, 9:00 AM

Dear friend and Chair Cat Freya the Slayer - that is insulting. I felt insulted just reading what you said. Lots of people refer to cats as fraidy cats or scaredy cats and it is insulting. I've slayed a lot more things in this house than my mom has, including one of those horrid looking centipedes with the gazillion legs. When my mom sees one of those running across the floor, she screams and I am forced into protective action. Fraidy cat - no way!

LindaCPearson wrote on March 19, 2015, 9:30 AM

Dear Prince Charming BooBear - You're right. I am well aware of the paparazzi and their sleazy antics. We must be careful without denying our feelings. Forever yours,, Mildred SweetyKins.

LadyDuck wrote on March 19, 2015, 10:33 AM

I believe that Mildred Kitty Witty will not get out so easily, you are a cute cat and you can stand this until Mom gives you good chicken treats.

HappyLady wrote on March 19, 2015, 1:21 PM

I know. It is most disturning. I have never slayed a centipede but I am sure I could. I do a fairly good line in spiders, but it is not mjuch fun as Human 1 is not afraid of them. Love from Freya the Catblog Cat and Slayer of all the stuff I said.

JohnRoberts wrote on April 11, 2015, 5:14 PM

Yeah mom, please afford your cat some dignity!

LindaCPearson wrote on April 11, 2015, 6:03 PM

I'm tying to do better but Mildred is awfully cute and sometimes I just can't help myself!
