Sunsets over the River Avon in Victoria

Hi guys, I know a lot of you don't care for sunsets but I'm sure some of you love them?

I would love to share with you some of the lovely sunsets that I have captured over the years!

Hi guys, I know a lot of you don't care for sunsets but I'm sure some of you love them?

These two occurred while we were holidaying in Stratford and staying just across the Avon River!

I thought I would give you Sunset dis-likers something to look at with some editing I did while learning the program! Love to hear what you think of them ?

I love skyscapes especially sunrise and sunset, or when a storm is coming in. Your photo┬┤s are stunning.

Most of us are still working when the sun decides to quit for the day.

Hollyhocks100 I also love to get the sunset when there is a looming storm :) I appreciate your kind words :)

Hmm, I would say that it depends where you are and your hours of duty . Over here, during a long span of months the sun does not set until well after 8pm.

arthurchappell it's great to see you have taken the time to make a visit :)

Those are pretty. My neighbors and I were just commiserating yesterday that there are few good places to photograph sunsets where we live. Unless you're on an elevation, the horizon is obstructed by trees.

OldRoadsOnceTraveled I do know how you feel! The area we lived in before moving to the River was very much like what you describe. We had to be very lucky to get a good Sunset :)

Wow!!!!I love the sky! Though sunset is a little bit depressing for me, but I love the dramatic scene of its effect in the sky. I really like it, I hope I can capture something like that too. God bless and thank you for sharing this one.

We are very fortunate to have 'great' sunsets here in Australia. It is unfortunate to know that they are created from a form of pollution ?
It only takes a bit of practice and application to take 'good' photos ! So get to work lol

We also have a nice sunset here in the place called Manila Bay.

You have a Stratford and Avon (as in Shakespeare) in Victoria down under?

agvulpes wrote on April 27, 2015, 10:00 AM

Yes John and it holds it own Stratford on Avon Shakespeare Festival every year ! It is not a big town but it is at the foothills of the Mountain range and it is a very picturesque place emoticon

Ah, the influence of Mother England. There is also a Stratford in Canada.

They are beautiful pictures. What editing software are you using?

agvulpes wrote on July 19, 2015, 10:03 AM

TY for your very kind comments :) At the moment I am using Photoshop Elements and enjoying the learning process very much!

Shellyann36 wrote on July 21, 2015, 12:15 AM

Is it free software or did you have to pay for it? I would like to find editing software myself so that I can watermark my photos.

agvulpes wrote on July 21, 2015, 7:50 AM

Photoshop Elements is the 'junior' of Photoshops but for such a powerful program I feel that the price is reasonable. Price is about 85$ US from a shop call B&H . If you would prefer a free program try a program called GIMP, it's OK but for me it is harder to learn than PSe :)
