share your best "pulutan" here. "pulutan" is a term used for food that we filipinos take while having our drinking sprees. it is similar to finger foods.

let me start with a couple of my favorites. one of my most favorite "pulutan" is sky flakes (it is a brand of soda crackers) mixed with canned tuna. it yummy and very affordable. i used to have this during my high school and college days. of course, there's the "isaw" which is basically grilled pig and/or chicken intestines dipped in very spicy vinegar. "tokwa't baboy" is also a favorite, that's fried tofu with fried or steamed pig skin. this usually goes with a mixture of soy sauce, vinegar, and chili peppers. another great "pulutan" to go with my alcohol is "sisig" . there are a lot of varieties of "sisig" there's pork sisig, chicken sisig, and my favorite tuna sisig. it's usually served on a hot platter topped with egg, onions, hot sauce, and mayonnaise. well, those are my picks.

so what do PPers what to have together with their alcoholic beverages?

What I do I have with my alcohol? Nothing. I don't drink. Too much alcoholism in the family to run the risk.

As for an appetizer/finger food-type snack, I like to make matzah pizzas, which basically is a matzah board with chunky vegetable spaghetti sauce on top, sprinkled with mozzarella cheese. Thanks to the size of a matzah it's the perfect single-serving size.

That sounds like a great tasting pizza recipe you have there FourWalls . I'll try it out myself.

Not drinking is fine. You aren't missing out a lot.

I also love that skyflakes and tuna combination for pulutan. Also, we love spicy oishi dipped in cold mayonnaise. But the best seller and unbeatable pulutan for me would be sisig!

Spicy Oishi dipped in cold mayonnaise is new to me. I will try that one! Sisig is no doubt the most popular pulutan dish here in Manila.

Oh that oishi and mayonnaise combination is really good. Especially if you're drinking hard liquor like Emperador. lol :) Try it!

I don't imbibe, but i do like finger foods, most of them not good for me. Peanuts are a staple in that department. I'm with FourWalls
