That Was One Big Bird, by Guiness the Cat

Hello, this is Guiness the Investigative Reporter reporting on the phenomenon in my driveway.
That's not paint, people.
We are talking a lot of bird poop here. Isn't there some kind of law about pooping on the pavement? A county ordinance at least? Defacing private property? It is, after all, my driveway.
I would question what that feathered felon was eating, but right next to the poop was a squirrel tail with no squirrel attached.
That just isn't right. Those are my squirrels to harass.
While I have the FBI out here investigating the case of the missing sun , I'm going to have them take a look into this, too, because I'm sure multiple crimes have been committed here.
It's a travesty.
Sincerely, Guiness the Cat

There must be quite a tale that goes along with the tail .... The fluff pleads innocent.

Oh Guiness, good thing you aren't from here because if you're from the Philippines, seeing bird poop on your front lawn or yard is just normal. lol :)
trufflehunter wrote on March 10, 2015, 9:41 PM
Aww poor squirrel! And I am certainly on your side. No bird poop should be allowed.

When I was a younger woman on my way to a friend's catechism, a large tropical bird pooped on my beautiful yellow taffeta dress. I was so upset. It was purple poop. Also, I was eating some fish and chips in London once, a bird pooped on my back. I finished eating my fish and chips.

That bird did make a big mess. Hope you find the sun soon, it is still missing here also

They must have run out of cars to dive-bomb.
1BarbRad wrote on March 10, 2015, 11:31 PM
That does sound like a great mystery, and quite a tragedy for the squirrel. It must have been some big bird of prey.
pinkCardigangirl wrote on March 11, 2015, 12:08 AM
Oh Guiness! I think they think they are going to get away with this! Little do they know that you have a plan!
OldRoadsOnceTraveled wrote on March 11, 2015, 12:33 AM
This is Guiness the Cat. That really didn't look like fluff poop, so I really don't think he's a suspect.
OldRoadsOnceTraveled wrote on March 11, 2015, 12:38 AM
This is Guiness the Cat. I'm used to seeing bird poop, but not in gallon-sized droppings. Don't think it's from the sparrows.
OldRoadsOnceTraveled wrote on March 11, 2015, 12:40 AM
This is Guiness the Cat. Eww on the purple poop and I would, too, on the fish.

This is Guiness the Cat. Thanks for your support.

This is Guiness the Cat. I've called in the FBI.

This is Guiness the Cat. Probably so.

This is Guiness the Cat. I suspect our resident hawk or owl.

This is Guiness the Cat. I always have a plan. I don't have all the details ironed out on it yet, so I think I need to sleep on it some more.

you know the black crows do keep pooping on your gates in the drive way every day
HappyLady wrote on March 11, 2015, 2:42 AM
Dear Guinness,
A mystery indeed. You are clearly a good detective. I think you should get a deerstalker hat and we could be like Sherlock and Holmes. Love from Freya, the Catblog Cat.

Ooopps!!! that is so sad to here about your squirrel, I wonder how big and what kind of birds that eat squirrels. Does squirrels has no strength to run past or to protect themselves from the flying hungry enemies?
LindaCPearson wrote on March 11, 2015, 9:22 AM
Egads, Guiness! You are having some unbelievable goings-on at your place. Good thing you're involving the FBI again. I wonder if the big pooping bird took off with the tail-less squirrel. I'm worried about the squirrel and as you said, those are your squirrels. Try to take a few more naps to calm down. Best wishes, Mildred Your Admirer.

Boy, you have quite the agenda these days. First, the missing sun, then poop on the driveway! The sun is missing here now, too. What is going on?
OldRoadsOnceTraveled wrote on March 11, 2015, 1:30 PM
This is Guiness the Cat. It could be crows, although I haven't seen (or heard) from them in the last week or two. I do have a resident hawk who is frequently up to stuff.
OldRoadsOnceTraveled wrote on March 11, 2015, 1:37 PM
Dear Freya the Catblog Cat,
I think we would be a great investigative team. With all respect, though, I think I will forego being the cat in the hat and just stick to being Guiness the Genius to your Fabulous Freya.
Sincerely, Guiness the Cat

This is Guiness the Cat. We have a hawk that has eaten its share of squirrels and rabbits. There's also an owl, but I don't know if he has a taste for squirrel or not.
OldRoadsOnceTraveled wrote on March 11, 2015, 1:45 PM
Dearest Admiring Mildred,
1I've alerted the FBI to the hawk. I've also learned that the sun has been abducted and forcibly taken to Florida. I highly suspect your grass may be held hostage there also. The FBI are on the case. I do need a few more naps to calm my nerves as it has been raining and I want to go outside. I keep trying to curl up in a nice quiet corner of a chair that seems to have become a repository for miscellaneous temporary residents. The camera case makes a nice screen for a cozy little hideaway, but my human keeps making me get off as she claims the chair is "uncovered". Silly human. Anyone can see that it is covered in coupons and junk.
Sincerely, Guiness the Cat

Guiness - we do have some sun here today in CT. I hope it isn't yours. We don't have any grass though, just tons of snow. I hope the FBI is able to do its job. I don't trust anyone anymore. Love and high fives, Mildred.
WordChazer wrote on March 11, 2015, 6:26 PM
And that sure isn't cat poop either...you would appear to have had some serious 'schtuff' happening in your area, Guiness, my lad. Better keep a sharp eye out.
OldRoadsOnceTraveled wrote on March 12, 2015, 12:25 AM
This is Guiness the Cat. The sun, along with Mildred the Cat's grass, was kidnapped and taken to Florida. I have the FBI on the case.
OldRoadsOnceTraveled wrote on March 12, 2015, 12:29 AM
This is Guiness the Cat. We won't mention that little issue in the hall. That aside, I do keep an eye out anytime I'm outside and that hawk is flying around screeching.
crowntower wrote on March 12, 2015, 3:26 AM
uh oh! I read Gahoole... and I think Owls are really having a taste for squirrels and they have this ritual things for their first bone, meats and feather etc for their newborn owlets. Stay safe.

Very cute! Hope you get to the 'bottom' of this.
HappyLady wrote on March 13, 2015, 1:19 PM
Dear Guineas, the absence if a hat may be as well. Human 1 has a thing about some cat in a hat and reads all this stuff to her Grandson. I think she should spend the time with me. Love from Freya who is a Catblog Cat not in a hat.

This is Guiness the Cat. I hope not!

Oh my you have your hands full. I would advise keeping your eyes to the sky, you definitely don't want to be party to that type of attack.
OldRoadsOnceTraveled wrote on April 23, 2015, 12:30 AM
This is Guiness the Cat. I do keep an eye out, even though I'm rather more than snack size. The neighbor kitties are much more petite, so I do worry about them sometimes.
