What Happened to the Sun? by Guiness the Cat

Hello, this is Guiness the Cat, and I'm a bit perplexed.

After shining so brilliantly all weekend, the sun did not show up for work today. It was a nice, mild day … pretty much just right with the exception of the sun's conspicuous absence.

Did it wear itself out over the weekend and decide to take the week off to go on vacation? Did it take a sick day? A mental health day? Oversleep? Forget to spring forward to Daylight Saving Time? Did it just play hooky?

Has it been abducted? Should we call the police? The FBI? The weather man?

Should we make "Missing" posters? Put the sun on a milk carton? Hold a candlelight vigil? Offer a reward for the safe return of our star?

I'm quite concerned over this. I think I need to go sleep on it. Meteorology is so exhausting.

But first, a snack.

Sincerely, Guiness the Cat

Are you getting a smidge greedy Guiness? spring temps and sun together? Maybe tomorrow! - the Fluff

Guiness you always make me smile :) I love your wit and your view on things. Now going back to the sun, maybe we should call the Guardians of the Galaxy to help us out. Dont you think?

pinkCardigangirl wrote on March 9, 2015, 11:52 PM

I think the sun took a vacation over here where I live. It was very warm today. :)

OldRoadsOnceTraveled wrote on March 10, 2015, 12:26 AM

Dear Fluff,

The sun has been seriously negligent in his duties of late. I don't mind giving him Christmas and New Year and maybe Groundhog Day off, but it's time he got back on the clock.

Sincerely, Guiness the Vitamin D Deficient Cat

This is Guiness the Cat. Somebody needs to do something.

OldRoadsOnceTraveled wrote on March 10, 2015, 12:28 AM

This is Guiness the Cat. Tell the sun vacation's over.

BodieMor wrote on March 10, 2015, 1:15 AM

The sun might want a little more time off, Guiness the Cat. There are always vitamin D supplements...

Ah, It is so good to see you! I have missed you and your human. I don't spend much time at the other place anymore, so if you have written there....I haven't been reading. Glad to find you here. As for the sun, I am afraid I am no help.

wolfgirl569 wrote on March 10, 2015, 9:46 AM

Guiness the sun is missing here today also. Maybe we do need some posters to help find it.

Dear Guiness. It's Mildred the Cat. I understand your concern and I definitely think you're taking the right approach with snacks and naps. I wonder where the grass in my yard went. It hasn't been seen in over two months and from the looks of things out there with the two feet of snow, I won't be seeing the grass any time soon.

It will probably have returned by the time you wake up, fluffball. Don't fret your ears and whiskers over it.

AngelSharum wrote on March 10, 2015, 3:16 PM

I hope you find the sun and bring it back.

This is Guiness the Cat. But those don't warm up my Outside.

OldRoadsOnceTraveled wrote on March 10, 2015, 7:57 PM

This is Guiness the Cat. Debbi and I don't write much at that other place anymore, and on the occasions we do, it's purely for self-promotion rather than any hopes of ever seeing any more money. We are concentrating on Persona Paper and our blogs now. We're close to collaborating a new one. You can keep up with us at our Guiness the Cat and Old Roads Once Traveled Facebook pages if you want to. We are also on Tsu, Twitter, and Google+. And don't forget my exciting action movies on YouTube.

This is Guiness the Cat. I think it's been kidnapped by Florida. We should probably call the FBI.

OldRoadsOnceTraveled wrote on March 10, 2015, 8:00 PM

Dearest Snow Queen,

Don't worry. I'll report it to the FBI when I call them about the sun. Your grass may be in Florida, too, and the FBI can rescue them both at the same time.

Sincerely, your sweet Boo-Boo

OldRoadsOnceTraveled wrote on March 10, 2015, 8:02 PM

This is Guiness the Cat. No, I'm pretty sure it's been abducted and being held captive in Florida along with Mildred the Cat's grass.

OldRoadsOnceTraveled wrote on March 10, 2015, 8:04 PM

This is Guiness the Cat. I think I've located it, and I'm dispatching the FBI to go rescue it from Florida.

LindaCPearson wrote on March 10, 2015, 8:58 PM

Dearest Guiness Boo Boo - you are so wise and strong and your problem-solving skills are amazing, somewhat like mine. I think the FBI should get involved and do something to help us both. Love and devotion and admiration, Mildred the Snow Queen.

How can one be expected to nap without that sunny spot? That missing sun will wreak havoc with the naptime schedules of felines everywhere!! Oh no!

BarbRad wrote on March 10, 2015, 11:33 PM

The sun had been missing here, too, today, which was all right with me because I had to drive home from the eye doctor with dilated pupils.

OldRoadsOnceTraveled wrote on March 11, 2015, 12:34 AM

This is Guiness the Cat. I'm so behind on my sleep.

OldRoadsOnceTraveled wrote on March 11, 2015, 12:45 AM

This is Guiness the Cat. Just what kind of students do you bring home with you?

crowntower wrote on March 11, 2015, 7:46 AM

Lol! Why not do the Sun Dance? heheheh just kidding, there is a very popular movie that show how to do the sun dance... hehehehe It is great to know that the sun finally visited you Guiness and I think by looking at your photo you are lovely walking and playing outside your parent's house. Lol God bless you.

OldRoadsOnceTraveled wrote on March 11, 2015, 1:27 PM

This is Guiness the Cat. I'm afraid I'll have to leave the dancing to younger kitties. I'm much better at complaining, like I've been doing today because it's raining and I want to go out. God bless you, too.
