Journal 03-09-2015

Good morning or whatever part of the day it is for you. Today is Monday March 9, 2015. The temperature is 54.2°F and the humidity is 86% at 4:52 a.m. PST (-8 GMT). Weather Underground shows sustained winds at 0 with gusts of 0.7 mph. It was mostly clear with some thin clouds on the horizon when I stuck my head out this morning. I saw the Big Dipper and an almost full moon. Weather Underground is predicting a 0% chance of precipitation and a high of 78 today.
I’ve set aside today to finish my taxes. After that, it’s Miller time I guess. I have no idea whether I owe or whether I’m getting a refund. I think I’m close to nothing, but I hope I get a small refund back. The tax system is to complicated and Byzantine is a mess and an exercise to do every year.
I finished writing the Examiner review last night while Mr. Siduri was watching TV. I’ll have to re-read it this morning and then add all the accursed links Examiner wants. It’ll still take me at least an hour to finish. And I have to find a pic. The review is on a book of the writings of Sor Juana de la Cruz, a 17th century Mexican nun who many believe wrote one of the earliest pleas for sexual equality.
As a wedding present, my brother and his wife bought us a night in a hotel. That was incredibly nice of them. It’s a suite and we’ll have breakfast. I am amazed and grateful at the generosity of so many people: my sister and her girlfriend are paying for the reception, another friend paid for shoes and the bouquets, and the friend who is the maid of honor has gone above any beyond so many times. It really is wonderful.
I’m also going to call the insurance company that used to cover the people I driver for and see if they’ll tell me how long ago it was that they stopped being the carrier for the people I drive for. That will tell me how long ago the evidence of insurance I’ve had stopped being any good, and how long ago they failed to inform me of that rather important little fact. Of course, the insurance company is under no obligation to tell me anything and they may just say they don’t want to get in the middle of that.
I’ll fire off one more email asking them to tell me who their present carrier for commercial liability insurance is so that I can obtain evidence of such and continue driving for them because I am not driving for them without commercial liability insurance. If it’s determined that drivers must now furnish their own, it’s a deal breaker because the policy would cost more than what I’m making. So, I’ll wait and see what happens. It really bothers me that I was already allowed to drive for however long it was without the coverage.
Thanks for reading. Hope you and yours are all well and happy. Hope the day brings you good things.
