30-Day Song Challenge, Day 14 - A Song that No One Would Expect You to Love

Based on my age, I’m quite sure no one would expect me to love Big Band music, but I do. I really do! It doesn’t matter by how many decades it predates me, good music is good music. Bing Crosby, Dick Haymes, Dinah Shore, Billie Holiday, Glenn Miller--bring it on!
One of the songs I love is “Paper Doll”, by the Mills Brothers. It’s a rollicking, fun song about a man who is fed up with the vagaries of human females (“dolls”) and who thus swears he’s going to buy a paper doll, who will stay true to him. Or, as he puts it, “And all the flirty, flirty guys / With their flirty, flirty eyes / Will have to flirt with dollies that are real”. It’s hilarious and cute!
Here's the last one, in case you missed it!

I've got my own collection of Big Band music, too. Perhaps it's more popular among our generation than you'd think,

I know I've told you this before, but you'd be surprised at how much non-Christmas Frank Sinatra I have on my iPod. Along with Dean Martin, Nat King Cole, Billie Holiday.....
