Good morning or whatever part of the day it is for you. Today is Sunday March 8, 2015. The temperature is 52.5°F and the humidity is 51% at 5:40 a.m. PST (-8 GMT). Weather Underground shows sustained winds at 0 with gusts of 0 mph. It was perfectly clear and perfectly still when I stuck my head out this morning. I saw the Big Dipper and a big fat full moon, with pearly moonlight all over the ground. Weather Underground is predicting a 0% chance of precipitation and a high of 79 today.
Some friends came down yesterday and we went for a walk at a regional park with a small zoo. It was nice. Judging by the crowds, a couple of other people thought it would be a good idea to go to the park that day, too. On the way out, we noticed a long line of cars trying to get it. Good thing we went when we did.
Afterwards, the female half of the friends took me shoe shopping for the wedding. Her heart is in the right place, but she’s quite overbearing, telling me what sort of socks to wear and an inveterate backseat driver. Didn’t keep me from being grateful for the shoes. I treated her to one of her favorite indulgences—Starbucks—on the way home. And I’m under strict order not to show Mr. Siduri the shoes until the wedding. Strange custom.
I’ve checked in with my friend, whom I’ve been called Dora, who lost he stepfather last week, just to see how she’s doing. Sad and stressed, as one might imagine. She said that her mother, who is in the beginning stages of Alzheimer’s, lost it for the first time. I offered to help get thing ready for the memorial next Saturday—cleaning, getting flowers, getting food or whatever else might be necessary. She’ll accept my help.
I’m am completely not shocked to have heard nothing further from the people that I drive for regarding their liability insurance. What I’m going to do tomorrow is contact the insurance company I was told was their carrier and she if I can find out how long they’ve not been their carrier. This is looking like it might just go to the attorney general’s office in the state where they’re based unless I can get a straight answer from them. I wonder how long I was driving without commercial liability coverage. I suppose it’s moot because I didn’t get into an accident, but still, I’m pretty steamed about being put into such a vulnerable spot.
Thanks for reading. Hope you and yours are all well and happy. Hope the day brings you good things.
