Children Love To Run

All children are always and constantly in motion. They are running around most of the time whenever this is possible. Running is a natural way of movement for a human being. Children are yet uninhibited by social norms so they exercise the movement without thinking. They simply do it.

It is because of us adults, their parents and teachers that they stop running. We constantly order them to be still and quiet which is completely wrong. Without running they are losing their freedom of body and mind.

It is a joy watching children run. They float above the ground. They move in a natural way. So don't stop them. Let them run. Let them be children for as long as it is possible.

You are correct. Children should be allowed to be children for as long as possible. Across the world too many children are denied a childhood for many different reasons. Let them run.

It is possible to harness that energy and power walk or walk very fast as an adult. I cannot run, even to save my life, but I can walk steadily and constantly for several hours without breaking pace. Enough to complete a Half Marathon in 3 hours 20 minutes at least and pass others who ran themselves into a wall in the last few miles. I hope your sons grow up to be that kind of walker/runner and never lose touch with the wonder that it putting one foot in front of the other at speed.

My four year old son also loves to run, almost all the time. He'll be running around the house, and around the yard.

That is right. Especially boys they are hyperactive.

Yes, they are denied their childhood. In 'developing countries' they are often forced to work. And in 'western civilization' they are systemically prepared to be good citizens and to obey their neocapitalist masters. Sorry but I am not in a good mood when it comes to a subject like this :(

Thank you. Me too :)

Thank you very much and congratulations on your walking achievements. You are a great walker.

We have a running race here in Slovenia which I help organize. 6 hours of running. A friend participates every year as a walker. He usually puts in around 50 kilometers of walking in these 6 hours.

Respect to him and to you!

That's great to hear. Running is natural way of movement for kids!

:) Yes they are. That's why our boys receive 'tasks' all the time. Walking up the hill, cycling, playing ball, skateboarding, ... you name it. And of course skiing and other snow related activities in winter time.
