Finally, the humidity has broken

It's been oppressively humid today and overcast throughout, There wasn't much of a breeze, either. I am being very stubborn about the air conditioning as I don't want to start paying those high electric bills just yet. Just recovering from the heating bills over the winter.

But suddenly, the breeze has shifted. There is a lovely, cool breeze coming as the sky is darkening. I don't care if it rains, as long as it stays cool. But I think the time for a storm has passed and perhaps this is just a sign of a better and cooler day tomorrow. I certainly hope so.

Even though the air is so much better, and in fact, almost too cool, I am not closing one window or turning off one fan. I would like to enjoy being truly chilled if I can manage it. Now, at least when I go to make dinner, I won't faint by the stove. Thank goodness for small favors.

Over here it is rare that A/C is used. Some commercial buildings maybe, but general households have no great need. I can imagine that the cost of such things could be an issue.

It was also quite warm here today. Even with the cool breeze we had, my son and I couldn't stay out too long because the sun was just radiating way too much heat. I've turned the air on once or twice to cool the house down, then use the ceiling fan to circulate the air. Makes it much better.

I am glad for you! It must be nice to get some breeze!

We had a record breaking heatwave here last summer, with even a few rare and awful humid days, which I loathe. I stayed inside.
