I'd do anything for you dear anything

It was indeed a long time, when the lights went out and the sun went down and the birds were silent and .. well the sky turned a kind of yellow and pink colour, you know that unique one off occurrence when all is right with the world, amazing how colours can do this. The crowd kept on talking as the eclipse darkened the land, I was a bystander standing by for something not knowing for sure that something would make its appearance today or the next for that matter, all I knew was change was happening. Nothing wrong with change but I thought about how many changes a person of late middle age had been through in his 'just over' interesting life.

Matthew, a friend of 6 years, 7 months and 3 days became my advisor in all matters of the mind, an Oxbridge graduate and captain of the rowing team, make that the second 8, his claim to fame was carrying the kit for the first 8 on Boat Race day, televised and radioised to the whole nation, his left leg was seen by approximately 5 million viewers live on the BBC. I quizzed him of the consequences of my mid life lethargy which was making me question my sanity, I needed at least a grasp of reality although a tadge of sanity which was always the norm for this guy from Hebburn.

Answers are worth a million dollars, questions are worth more. Change can only happen when more than one person asks more than one question and more than one person answers, of course manipulation of the question such as..

"How many people passed the course?" may be "What percentage of the people who took part passed the course?"

Everyone passed the course if you stop some people completing the course, then everyone who completed the course passed. Therefore 100% of people passed, manipulating the question gives an answer that statistically is of more benefit when advertising the course or your sanity to the world.

Change can be motivating but at 52 the spirit may be willing but the flesh gains one more wrinkle per day. My question is .. is my spirit flagging or is the flesh weak? maybe this should be "Has your body and mind gone on an all expenses paid trip to Disneyland?"

Don't worry Matthew will probably have an answer for this too.

Have you ever left washing on the line for a few days? just before you bring it in it rains, you leave it out and it continues to rain for a few more days. Our time is precious and needs to be filtered so that all parts can refuel. I feel almost full but in which direction will I roam?

I am so pleased people from Newcastle were united, we are all here on this small planet and I personally want to make the most of my time here which hopefully includes loving my fellow human being regardless of colour, race, sex etc etc

GedWrites I think as we reach our 50's things do start looking different. And yes, the mind wanders. Many questions. I still don't have answers to most of them. But the mind remembers and still wants to do. And as you said, the body dos not want to comply. I think one question that starts creeping in is, Is this all that's left? Who knows. I doubt it though.

Isn't it funny how you look back and think.. I wonder what hat person is doing, you know the one or one's you knew many years ago maybe from school or college. I never thought about these people when I was growing older but now .. well now I think about it all of the time, maybe it is the great times I had then. Goodness, this getting old is not for me haha

GedWrites I agree. We do tend to start thinking about people we haven't thought about in years. But we do have Facebook now and we can try and look them up. Me personally, well, most of the people I went to school with were not nice people. So I would not bother with them. Only a few old friends I have looked for and could not find.

Very interesting post. As we age there are any challenges to face, but we are used to them by now so we are even able to laugh about even the serious stuff
