30-Day Song Challenge, Day Ten - A Song that Makes You Fall Asleep

A song I could fall asleep to is “Dream Weaver” by Gary Wright. When I was a little kid, I used to listen to a classic rock station that signed off at night, around midnight or maybe one a.m. (yeah, I stayed up late. Thank goodness I only had a radio and not a TV or a computer), and they would play “Dream Weaver” as the final song, to kind of usher everyone off into dreamland.

It’s an appropriate song to do so, as the lyrics start “I just close my eyes again / Time to board the Dream Weaver train…” and the music is very soothing and kind of spacey, with cosmic sound effects. I always find it very relaxing, although it doesn’t actually MAKE me fall asleep; that would be very bad while driving, for example! But if I was lying down somewhere comfortable and listening to music, that song is one that I could drift off to.

You might remember this song from the movie Wayne’s World . As a matter of fact, there was a ride at Carowinds amusement park that I went on called The Dream Weaver that played the song, although it was a very exciting ride--of course, I didn’t fall asleep THAT time!

Here's the last one, in case you missed it!

I remember the song - quite like it - not sure if any song makes me feel tired or I'd use it to help beat my insomnia

My friend's brothers' garage band used to play this one when I was a kid. It was one of the mellower songs they used to play.

I have that problem sometimes--I usually can't fall asleep to music, actually, but reading always makes me sleepy. Maybe that would work for you.

It's very dreamy, isn't it?

My husband and I were taking a road trip while listening to a CD of new age music. It was so soothing that we almost perished in a fireball, so we upped the tempo a bit!

I don't know if I would fall asleep to that unless it was very soft.
