Watching TV...and smiling for a change
I am watching the #cricket match being played between # Pakistan and UAE in Napier (New Zealand) on television and for a change I am smiling.
Pakistan has had a horrendous start to their WorldCup2015 campaign with heavy losses inflicted by India and West Indies. The team seemed to be in tatters and so were the expectations and dreams of fans back home.
But Pakistan then scored a rather shaky win against Zimbabwe and has now posted a huge total of 339 runs for 6 wickets against UAE which is great to see. Even if the opposing team is a minnow , it is great to see score of 300 plus on board.
Shahid-Afridi also took his total ODI runs to over 8000 and needs just six wickets to complete 400 wickets in one day internationals (ODIs) which will be an amazing feat for any all rounder.
If he manages to take 6 wickets in the remaining World Cup 2015 matches, he will retire as 4th or 5th highest wicket taker in history of cricket.
I hope Pakistan wins this match with a big margin because if entry into quarter-finals is to be decided on run rates, this win against UAE will be of pretty huge significance.

My Dad loved cricket and during the season he would have the TV on in the lounge, the radio in the dining room, and his portable radio to take with him if he was going outside, or even to the loo. He didn´t want to miss any of a game.

Haha. That is what we are all doing at the moment with TV, laptop, tablet and smartphones in lounge, kitchen and bedrooms so that we don't miss anything esp when our team is playing.

Glad that sports show is making you smile. What makes me smile are cartoons and anime on television. :D

I have to say Cricket is one of those sports that does nothing for me whatsoever. But I'm glad the game put a smile on your face!

I think I missed that match but I did see the Pakistan Zimbabwe one. Well I only see the shorten versions but I get all the highlights anyway.

I started off trying to follow the games, but I'm lost now and rely on my husband for abbreviated updates.

There are a few television shows I watch that make me smile and watching sports is not among them. :)

I am entirely devoid of any knowledge of cricket, but I hope your preferred team wins!
