Make Money Online: Tips to avoid Scams

I'm always looking for more ways to make money , but it can be frustrating and just plain exhausting at times. Other times, you can be pleasantly surprised. I do a lot of research, because I do not want to get scammed. I know some of you are also on the look out for more earning , so I'm going to offer some tips.

These are the steps I take before deciding to sign up for a site or not:

Research

I do a lot of research before I even consider a site. I look far and wide for reviews, comments, and complaints. I read as many as I can, and I ask on all the boards I visit if anyone else has experience with the site I'm interested in.

Complaints

When I see complaints, of course, it's a red flag. Still, I keep reading and researching. Often times, there are disgruntled people who have been banned for scamming, and they will try to destroy a site's reputation. See what the majority of people have to say before forming an opinion.

Reputable Resources

There are some well respected sites that offer information and reviews. These are the first ones I check out. Sometimes, I get good information from random sites too, but I like to compare to that of the more well known work at home or online sites.

Read the Comments

After reading a review or a post about a certain money making opportunity, I always read the comments if there are any. Not only do you get more information, and more opinions from more users, but sometimes the people in the comments mention other viable sites as well.

I hope this is helpful. Good luck!

Why, thank you, sir. I hope it is helpful. The hunt for legitimate places to earn can become discouraging when you come across a lot of scams. I don't want to see that happen to anyone.

I agree that research is key, and the comment son a post can be very helpful, indeed. So many people are willing to share their experiences! I would also recommend joining an online forum or a Facebook group in which writers can share tips about different sites with which they've had experience.

Thanks for that. I did use to belong to some writer's groups when I worked online full time. It was a good way to network with other writer's, sharing job tips and warnings and just venting or chatting. I should look into some again.

I think that it is important to do some research before we join a new site. I didn't do that in the beginning, and I was scammed several times. I like the things that you wrote about the complaints. Complaints are a red flag, but sometimes the complaints came from people who didn't get paid because they violated the rules, posted spam etc, so we have to look at the other comments as well.
