A Song That Makes Me Happy...

In 1990, our family was living in Guam. My daughter was 15-years-old. She had the biggest crush on a new artist on the scene.

He was 23-years-old, though he had been playing professionally, according to his story, since he was 10. What made him unique from the other artists out there, he played and wrote "old school" jazz.

I, too, fell in love with him.

Harry Connick Jr. is a fabulous singer, songwriter and musician. He has also done some acting and is now one of the judges on the talent show, American Idol.

One of the songs that he wrote that always lifts my spirits is "Recipe for Love, " off of his We Are in Love album. Big band style that I so adore, here is a video from 1990 with the 23-yo hottie crooning and charming his way into both my daughter's and my hearts.

It is hard to believe that my daughter will be 40 this year. It is also equally as difficult to believe that I will be 60 in a few months. Harry Connick Jr. will be 48 this year.

I just hope he likes older women.

Harry Connick Jr is awesome! I may have heard this song, but I can't remember; I will have to look it up. Regarding his preference in women, as far as I know, he's still married to that supermodel, so...

What a playful rendition of a happy song -- it makes it sparkle, it seems.

Feisty56 It could also be that HC is such a great showman, as well. I love his on-stage persona, and all the fun that he seems to have and what he brings to his audiences.

He is a great showman, and yet not over-the-top. I don't know what he's like in person, but on stage his charm and charisma shine through.

I have heard (from other musicians I know who have worked with him) that he is a good guy. I'm sure there are many who don't like him. That's how life is. I still think he's hot, too. LOL
