The New Image Wizard at Persona Paper
Not being a regular on this site, it is pleasing to find the additional features being added as of late. The Image Wizard is a new feature that allows a writer to upload images as before, or automatically use an image from the free site Pixabay. It does have its bugs, for example the button currently reads "Replace Image" where there is no image to replace. Additionally there is an entry for Flickr which is currently under construction.
One benefit that is right away apparent is the automatic ability to insert the proper image credit. While the only service currently available is Pixabay it would seem that it is setup in such a way to make it easy to add other image services as they become available. Perhaps even tie in some authentication services with paid services such as Getty Images or iStockPhoto.
While we can't pretend to know what the future plans for the image wizard are, it is exciting to see continued updates to the platform.

I do not see any image feature when I publish my post. Perhaps I have to delete history and cache to make it appear.

Really? It may be a cache issue. I can see it on my end, just like elitecodex described on his posts. But since its been a while since I have been here that could also be the reason. I do not have any cached data that is valid on my machine.

I haven't been on for awhile and this is news to me

Yeah this is news to me as well... looks pretty neat though. Have you used it yet?

While I frequently use Pixabay images, I am sad because I want to use WIkimedia Commons pictures for my Song Challenge series, which I started, unfortunately, the same day the Image Wizard went up. Me go cry now.

AliCanary - you CAN use Wiki Commons images as the header image in your posts. It requires a little bit of lateral thinking but it is easy. The new Wizard gives you the option of uploading images from your computer. Simply find a Commons image you wish to use (or an image from any other photo-sharing site, such as MorgueFile), download it to your computer then simply upload it to your post via the 'your own' option in the Wizard! You will be asked for an image credit so don't forget to make a note of that when you choose your image. It might be a wise precaution to resize a large image to a more suitable size for a header image before uploading. Easy really!

I just noticed yesterday that the way to add pictures to our posts has changed. It took me about a minute to figure out how to add my own picture but it was not very difficult so I assume pretty much anyone can figure it out. I never use images I find online. I like to create my own. If I cannot add a photo of my own I just do not post a photo at all. I do not want to chance posting an image that could be copyrighted and lose money or have the post deleted.

Thank you, but I know how to do it. It is actually just not working for me. Apparently some people are able to use it, but I can't. I can't even do the Pixabay one

AliCanary - It's working fine for me except that if I edit a post it drops the image and I have to upload it again. My browser is Chrome - I wonder if that makes a difference?

I'll go test it out. I noticed I haven't posted in a while. It's always good to see improvements. Although I rather use my own images, I have no problem with putting one up from Pixabay. Hopefully the new picture manager will make it easier and faster.

I cleared the browser cache and it works now--yay!!

I agree. It's good to finally have the image wizard working. I have needed intro images today.

I like the new image wizard too. I've been using the Pixabay search feature to find pics to add to my recent posts here though I notice that you can't add images to poll posts.
