The Birds Are Singing?

Though awakening at 4:30 a.m. after a fitful night's sleep is certainly not beautiful, it is now 8:00 and the birds are chirping merrily, and there is sunshine streaming through my window.

Okay...who am I fooling?

Part of the "chirping" is really the annoyance of the crows' incessant cawing. There are no beams of sunshine beckoning me to dance frivolously out the door to feed the baby deer by hand. In fact, after the deer ravished my garden of nearly $300 in plants within a week of planting, I would just as soon shoot Bambi than feed the over-grown "rodent."

Yet, I am alive again today. For that, I greet this overcast morning and its bevy of cacophonous black crows with joy.

Later, when the grey burns off and the sun peeks through the forest, I will also hear the other birds singing on my walk on a new trail at the Illahee Preserve.

Yes, it is a beautiful Sunday morning.

I am happy you are alive today! I am happy I made it to another day too. Now, perhaps you could take a nap today to perk you up after a not-so-good sleep.

Likewise, GemstonePink !! Best yet, had we not been alive, we would not have met here at Persona! Naps not likely today. Hopefully, better night's sleep tonight!

In the countryside of France the crowing or singing of birds that disturb are fired at and that is more disturbing than the birds.

Sounds lovely. We woke to heavy rain. Ah well, it has been fairly dry this winter so far, so shouldn't complain.

I have been hearing birdsong almost every time I've been outside this week and the week before. As for "Bambi," you have my sympathy.

Venison is pretty tasty. If Bambi shows his thieving mug again, it's worth considering. Just sayin'.
