I Must Remember to Edit My Titles
There is only one thing I hate more than finding an error in my published piece of writing, that is finding an error in the title. Sometimes we can read through our work time and time again and not notice the most obvious mistakes. For me, this is usually because I read what I expect to be there, not the actual words on the page.
Because I'm a teacher people seem to think I should be immune from errors, but I make them even better than many. Some get fixed, some pass by unnoticed. But it's when I make an error in my title that I get really cross with myself. After all, that's what people see first, enabling them to make a decision whether to read the article or not.
I was mortified a short time ago to see an error in the title of the last piece I published - all fixed now, thanks to being able to edit. However, I do tend to have a tendency to read through the content looking for errors, but forget to check the title. Note to myself, always remember to check the title before pressing submit!

Me, too! I'm so embarassed by any mistakes, but titles are a clincher.

Wise words - and don't forget to check that any links you include in a post actually work (including image credit links)!

Kasman Whoops, thanks for pointing that one out

I do not like to put "teacher" in my profile description due to the many errors I let slip right by. I now understand completely why my students dreaded this task. For my profile here, I did not add "teacher" to it. Hope you are the only one that reads this comment!

A great reminder. Can you tell me how people add tags to their posts? I am fairly new here and still learning. Thank you!

SuperCyclone , if you put & before the person's name, it works. I think the instructions are in the instructions for How it Works or FAQ so explore the site a little and you'll find all sorts of useful information.

I didn't notice your error - so I'm just as bad as you are! And I was a teacher too!

I edited it pretty quickly, probably before you had a chance to notice it
always glad to meet another teacher, didn't know that about you!

Guess what? Most of the times I do not say that I am a teaher too so to excuse myself with lots of error in my writings! :O

Lol, you're no doubt wiser than I am. But, in the past, until I retired, a lot of my writing was about school, no escaping the fact then!

Perhaps you can train your cat to proofread for you.

Two things I quite like in this - and neither are "errors." Firstly - 'I should be immune to errors but I make them better than many.' Better errors is a reassuring concept. Second - 'I do tend to have a tendency...' - truly, what more could tendencies ask of us than that we tend toward them? Thanks for the grace...

Glad to oblige Squidwhisperer I'm now struggling with how i feel about better errors
