I'm Still Saving For WWE SummerSlam

I wrote a post a while back stating that I was going to WWE SummerSlam. You can catch that post right here: http://personapaper.com/article/14702-heading-to-wwe-summerslam-in-2015 (if I am not allowed to link it, please let me know and I'll check it. Thanks.)

It was posted on November 9th, 2014 (hey, my Momma's birthday!) So where exactly am I at? Saving up, or saying I will save up but didn't actually do it? Or did I scratch it off the list completely?

Well guess what? I am happy to say that between my writing and babysitting, I already have a couple hundred saved up! :D The tickets haven't even gone on sale yet, but I do have enough for my ticket so far.

What I do is I take a little out of my each pay and put it towards SummerSlam. We have increased our babysitting, as you may have seen in the previous post, so a good chunk of that money will go towards SummerSlam. I am $8 away from redemption on Bubblews, so whenever I hit that, I'm putting that $50ish towards SummerSlam. I don't know what I'm doing with my first redemption here. I have a long way to go, as I only hit my first dollar the other day. Depending where I am with my finances, that pay may go towards SummerSlam too. I may even take on extra work -without burning myself out- once we get closer to the trip. I have several survey websites, including Swagbucks, MyPoint and ChatAbout, and I plan to earn as much as I can by June or July; same with Mturk hits.

You see, I have to make sure I can afford my regular expenses first, and then I put money on the side for SummerSlam. I take a little out of every pay while letting the survey/task websites build up. I will continue to do this until August 15th, my final big pay day before.

Now the Izod Center is closing down, forcing the WWE to find another location, but I have heard that the WWE wants to keep it in the NJ/NY area. So we should be good to go. I may do what I did before -providing I'm not babysitting- and that's play my WWE playlist while working. It's a reminder that I have a trip to work towards. I did it back when I was saving towards Wrestlemania 29 in NJ/NY, and it does help increase the motivation.

I rarely go to the movies or concerts or other events, unless it's something I really want to see. I don't do clubs or anything of that nature. WWE events/signings are really my thing. I love the feeling of being there, and even moreso the feeling of knowing -I- earned it. I plan to earn it and make this trip work, and I am pretty darn excited for it. :D

I'm so happy that you have a goal for spending your money. What is it that you like about WWE?

Thank you sooo much! It's exciting to watch; a lot of action, comedy, drama --- it's fun! Great matches and promos, sitting on the edge of my seat, talented performers, etc. Plus the fact that I have met some of my best friends today, and had amazing experiences, all because I am a WWE fan. :D

I think it's important for people tho have their "thing," as you say. For some it may be expensive clothes, or going out to clubs, etc...You have to treat yourself once in a while.

It is exciting to hear your plans for the summer. Yeah, WWE is really big and guess you will have lot of fun during the Summer Slam. Chal!

Thanks! :D I don't get the opportunity to go away on a "WWE vacation" often, and I'm only a 3-4_ hour drive from the NJ/NY area, so my friends and I are going. :)

I watched it then too. :) Austin is awesome! He has his own podcast now. :)

Awe thanks! WWE is big, and SummerSlam is one of their biggest events! I'll definitely have a blast, or at least I plan to lol. :D

First off, good luck in getting your money from bubble ooze. Do those guys still pay? Not to rain on your parade but I've seen a lot of posts about those guys not paying up or making US based members wait for 60 days before paying.

Secondly, good luck in getting money saved up for Summerslam tickets. If I had my way, I'd watch a live WWE pay per view event. My preference in this order, Wrestlemania, Summerslam, and Royal Rumble.

I think we are still planning on going to Raw in London in November after I finish uni, my mum has very kindly said she will give me some money as a graduation present so whatever I don't spend on graduation can go towards the trip - as long as the dates don't conflict with my actual graduation ceremony, I don't think they are announced yet it will likely be announced after their tour here in April which we are not going to because that's my exam period and I cant travel during it and I wouldn't go back to another house show here since the last one was disappointing. I would rather pay the extra money and go to London for Raw.

I don't know that you can send private messages on here. Just do a Google search for "Stone Cold Steve Austin Podcast" and it should be the first result - The Stone Cold Steve Austin Show - Unleased - PodcastOne. :)

I redeemed in December and received it sometime in January, at 40-some days. I haven't missed a payment with them yet. I just don't expect to redeem often anymore because it's so slow. Since I'm so close to this $50, and since I don't use it as normal income, I am just throwing it towards S'Slam. But yes, they are still paying.

Thanks! I made it work back for Wrestlemania 29, and I'll do it again this time around. :) The Royal Rumble and Wrestlemania are my two faves. :) I went to the Rumble in Pittsburgh last year. I was going to go again in Philly this year, but then they announced WWE Payback for Baltimore (my hometown) and it wasn't financially doable to do both, so I opted for the show 20 minutes away lol.

ViperGirl85 wrote on February 20, 2015, 9:19 PM

I hope you can someday! Even if you get the "cheaper" seats, which I have had, it's just as exciting to watch than in the closer rows.

ViperGirl85 wrote on February 20, 2015, 9:20 PM

Gotcha. I hope you can do the London Raw! :D It'll be worth the wait! emoticon
My next show isn't until May for WWE Payback in my own hometown, then it's SummerSlam in August, and then I don't have anything planned unless the WWE announces another Raw show in May.

melody23 wrote on February 21, 2015, 12:37 PM

I am just waiting for the dates to be announced, I have my graduation ball on the 28th November and the actual ceremony will likely be either a few days before or a few days after that so it should be ok because obviously Raw will be a Monday and I think graduation will be the Friday but you never know for sure until the dates are confirmed.

ViperGirl85 wrote on February 21, 2015, 11:31 PM

Right. Just keep checking WWE.com and Ticketmaster, and the arena website, and sometime is bound to be announced.

There used to be a website that listed ALL of the events, even in advance, and he was usually spot on. If I can find it, I'll post it on here for you. It looks like the original website was hacked, so I obviously won't be posting that right now.

melody23 wrote on February 22, 2015, 6:13 AM

In theory I should get an email a few days the go on sale with a pre-sale invitation from one of the ticket sites, I signed up to it ages ago though so you never know if you will actually get it or not. Going on previous years I think it will be either the Monday before graduation or the Monday after but I will need to wait and see.
