Increasing The Babysitting For A While

I meant to make another post last night, but that didn't happen. Sometimes the schedule is rearranged at the very last minute. I was in the middle of working, and unfortunately procrastinating, and then my browser went haywire for a bit lol.

Sooo, we have been babysitting my best friend's son (who is practically my nephew since we've been best friends for almost 13 years) for quite sometime now. Now, we're watching my two and four year old nieces while their parents look for affordable daycare. My five year old niece is home schooled, so she spends a lot of time with her four year old cousin when she's not doing her school work. They have their little disagreements, but they're pretty much best friends. The two year old is adorable, but she's kind of a handful at times lol. Luckily, there is more than one of us watching them (and we split the pay), so nobody has lost their mind yet. :p

Now watching my two nieces is not a long-term arrangement. I don't know how long it will be, but they have been told that they need to be actively looking for a daycare. We love those girls, but we never agreed to do this forever, as we all do things during the day. We only just started watching them last week, so I didn't expect them to find daycare this soon, but they do need to be looking.

We only have the girls Tuesday through Friday, and the usual munchkin Monday through Friday (though there have been days where we don't get him). We have had our hectic days, but it hasn't been every day, so that's good. All the parents get off at 3:30pm, so we should only have the kiddies for a few more hours. I don't expect anyone to get here as quick as usual, since it did snow this week. Obviously the roads are not bad enough to where they cannot drive, but they probably have to drive slower than usual.

Anywho. The babies are sleeping and the four year old is playing in another room (I can see and hear her from here). I'm watching Roseanne for a bit, thinking of making my first coffee of the week and getting ready to start on some work. You all have a good day or night, and take care.

Child minding is hard work. It can be fun too but someone who has never done it does not realise just how much work and effort is involved.

Sounds like your days are very full right now. I teach and I know how great it can be to spend time with children, but it can also be tiring. Good luck and enjoy!

Oh yeah! Especially when two of those little ones are one and two, so they're learning to interact and share with kiddies their own age. It's not as easy as one may think.

Oh yeah, between writing and munchkin-sitting, my weekdays are pretty full. I enjoy those quiet evenings and weekends lol.
