Valentines weekend

Its my first valentines weekend with my other half due to our relationship being long distance for a very long time mixed with other factors we could never spend it together.

I was pretty excited and so was he but due to us trying to save on money we agreed not to get each other anything for valentines and save the money for our dinner. He had booked a restaurant for Saturday evening at 8pm, he didn't tell me the name of the restaurant just the area it was in.

On Thursday I figured I would get him something small because I felt that the dinner was more for me than him, I was told not to spend much so I headed off to the dollar store (don't judge), and told him my reasons for doing this.
I got little flowers with hearts in them, a bunny (my nickname from him),a bee balloon that says 'bee mine', heart chocolates and candy and a little tub with hearts on it to add it all into.
I then decided to get the plastic eggs for Easter that open in the middle and decided I would make a scavenger hunt for him to find each present.
It's much more difficult than I thought to think of clues!.

On Friday he told me to be aware of the door going because he was waiting on the new batteries for the collar for our dog Peanut (she has the barking one but thankfully she won't need it much longer) as he was going to take a nap. So I was waiting and waiting and heard nothing from the door and eventually decided to just check for a box outside.
To my very happy surprise I found a box with my name on it from proflowers! I received beautiful red roses, a box of chocolates and a bear I named Valentino. I was very happy with this surprise and I loved it so he received a huge thank you! I love getting flowers and since we had agreed not to do anything I was very surprised.

Saturday morning came and woke up very annoyed to find out that LA Fitness had taken out the money on a different date we expected. So I figured since our plan was to go to ihop then his present I switched it over to cheer him up.
He didn't expect a scavenger hunt at all and he has lots of fun going around finding all of his clues which led to each present.
We then headed our for our breakfast which was very busy and packed surprisingly!

Home for a nap before we got ready for our dinner, he picked a fantastic restaurant called Christy's and I had a great mojito and a very delicious salmon dinner which was amazing! My other half got lamb which he very much enjoyed.

Sunday morning my sister in law gave me a giraffe teddy since I absolutely love giraffes, it had hearts on it's little 'horns', I know they're not really horns but I forget the correct name. A bow around it's neck and red hair!
I named it Christy!

I had a very happy and surprising Valentines Day and the whole weekend!

Who said romance was dead?

People have different views of romance, and my weekend was perfect even if others don't view it like that.

And it did sound romantic...

Not everything has to be romantic, some don't like it. As long as you enjoy it and the company.

Sounds like a great day for everyone. We chose to stay home but had high winds and snow that day

Scavenger hunts are fun. I used to do that with my friends as kids. I think I should do that with my daughter emoticon
We made reservations for sat night and good thing we did because everything was packed. We had a nice family dinner and then enjoyed cookies my daughter and I had made ;)
