Day Two on Set of Madam Secretary

Wednesday and Tuesday I was on the set of Madam Secretary with a background role as a cult member. I've already written a post about my experience - and it was amazing! - for the first day of this two-day shoot. You can read that post here:

Day two the set was a completely different location, intended to portray an air force base. We were at an airfield, with the set located primarily in a giant airplane hangar. The holding location for actors and crew was in an air museum at the airport. The picture above is NOT from the set, but rather taken at the air museum while we were waiting between scenes. The picture is of me and some of my background friends inside a bomber at the museum. I am on the right-side machine gun - lol. I am, however, wearing the clothing that I wear in the scenes we were shooting.

I am bound by confidentiality not to divulge any plot information, so I cannot speak much about the storyline. But at once point I was positioned RIGHT next to the star of the show, Tea Leoni. In fact, the slates were right next to my head, so I'm fairly certain I will be seen in this. And by the way, Tea Leoni is just the sweetest, nicest person ever!

This day we were a little more comfortable because we were inside the hangar, but let me tell you, it was still very cold in there. Much better than the day before, though, standing all day long on frozen ground with ice and snow.

I still need to get busy and start watching Madam Secretary so I can follow along, and have some context when this episode airs. It is Episode 118.

How exciting! I have been an extra on set before, too, and I love to see how things work behind the scenes. Very cool of you to write and share your experience with it.

Judging by your description I cannot help but wonder if it's going to follow a storyline similar to the real events from Jonestown in 1979. I guess I'll find out when the episode airs! Thanks for sharing your adventures!

You are on the right track! I myself don't know the full details, but I think you're on to something there ;)

It does give you an entirely different perspective to see what happens behind the scenes and during the filming. It never ceases to amaze me how much work goes into creating a TV show.

That is very cool that you get to do this type of work.

I can't wait to see your episode whenever it airs, I am a big fan of this series. :)

I can't wait to see it. Episode 118 is in the next season. I'm not sure when that starts. The present season has ended and the last episode was one of the best.

&amky49 What a nice experience, in spite of the cold weather. It looks like you have two amazing days. Hopefully I will catch the episode.
