Diary – Monday 2nd February 2015

Daytime – writing, job-search, yada yada yada.

Skipping all that palaver as my giddy and excited mind was focussed on the evening activity – the read through / rehearsal of my horror themed radio play, Wendigo Water, which is due to go out live both on air and before a theatre audience on the 27th of this month.

As the author of what is my first such play, I was expecting to just watch the cast bring my work to life but I am now drawn in as a performer myself which is very exciting. Everyone at the theatre did an amazing job, and though I was worried some bits of the script might need heavy editing, it just needs a few slight tweaks – one scene gave too many clues to what will now be a bigger surprise for the audiences on the big night.

A big thanks to the exceptional players I’ll be working with to bring this to the stage and airwaves in just a matter of weeks.

Don't tell me you've got wendigos kicking around Manchester? They're pretty intriguing and haven't ever really been done justice on film. Play/voice might be more suitable...

I'm glad everything is coming together nicely with the play.

Oh, I like the idea of a radio play. I like acting but feel uncomfortable on camera. I'd be so happy to do a voiceover, though! It sounds like you had a great time, and it must be so exciting to see/hear your work being brought to life!
