Hooray! I Reached 8,000 Coins Today!
Hee hee! I can't believe how perfect some of these Pixabay pictures are.
Okay, the reason that I am laughing is that around about 4,000 coins, I decided that instead of trying to find a perfect picture to fit the article, I would just enter the number 4000 into the Pixabay search bar and take whatever I got. It turned out to be people climbing a hill at the Grand Canyon, which was delightfully appropriate. Sometimes, like number 7000's picture of zucchini, the technique yielded goofy results that I had to twist and turn to make fit with the post, but that was part of the fun.
But this picture taken at Mount Annapurna in Nepal, for 8000, is the best so far, as it both celebrates my summit of a decently-sized peak, but a reminder that I have yet grander heights to scale. I am kind of stoked about this latest thousand coins, because it came faster than the last (see my last update here http://personapaper.com/article/19062-the-7000-coin-mark---a-little-late-with-the-update ). Last time it took 38 days and 20 articles, and my observation that I'd only produced that few articles in that many days prompted me to coin the term "slackdoodle" to describe myself.
This time, it only took 28 days to reach the milestone, with 22 articles, so I was slightly less of a slackdoodle. Only slightly. But I'll take it.
