I have begun a work out routine

It has become increasingly difficult for me to perform my job since I turned 40 several years ago. Sometimes i have a hard time walking up the stairs to my room at the end of a long shift.

Now that I have some time off I decided to stop feeling sorry for myself and do something about this. So I joined a health club and I have been walking on the treadmill and playing racquetball when my girlfriend is at work.

Yes, I guess this is just one of those things about getting old. I am too old to just sit around during my time off. I used to be able to do nothing, and come back to work a month later and be in the same shape I left in.

I will know if I have reaped any benefits from this when I go back to work.

It would also be nice if I lose some weight during these workouts. Right now I am just trying to get through each one of them. My body is resisting me every second of every workout!

Yes, it's good to keep the body challenged. We are not as flexible, as we get older.

I really do need to get a routine going. I have my Wii and some fun tennis games. Just have to not be so BLECH when I get home after work (not a morning person or else I would do it before work).

Congratulations on being proactive, keeping in shape is always good. I'm a senior and I make sure I keep reasonably fit by cyclling and walking.
