My First Completed Paper Cut

I tell a little lie here as its not exactly my first paper cut but it is the first cut I have done from design to completion. I got the inspiration for this from a Facebook group contest where you have to develop and cut your own template based on the theme of 'hopes and dreams'. I don't know where the saying come from but I was sat there pondering the contest and the world just came to me. It has taken at least six days to complete the design process and it then took a further week to finish cutting the design and the this afternoon to mount it. All that is left for me to do now is submit it for the competition. That can wait while I have a shower to warm up a little since the temperature has dropped thanks to it starting to snow. Bye for now

It is a beautiful paper cut emoticon  I also make paper cuts, but recently I have been too busy with other things. Your post inspired me to get started again

No! I wouldn't be able to do that. It looks so delicate.

Wow that is stunning! You are so clever and the integration of the words is fantastic. I hope you win - do we get to vote? we could all pop over and add to your count

I have to admit that it is a very impressive result, so you have done well irrespective of whether you win.

I designed it on a computer then reversed the design and printed it onto the paper. What you do then is using a scalpel or other craft knife you cut away the shaded parts of the design and what you have left when you are done is the finished design.

Thank you! No unfortunately it is only members of the group that get to vote for their three favourite and then the page owners choose a first second and third from there.

I am really pleased with myself has it has been hard designing on the computer from scratch. I usually draw by hand but I couldn't get it right with all of the text. And for my first one to turn out so well I am really pleased with how it turned out.
