A Glimpse at St Clair Beach, Dunedin, New Zealand
New Zealand is a wonderful country to live in and always popular with international tourists. I love sharing some of my favourite places with online readers who can't enjoy the pleasure of visiting some of our tourist destinations. The view I've chosen today is of a beautiful beach, way down on the west coast of the South island, in the city of Dunedin.
St Clair Beach is popular with locals in the summer, but I last visited it on a glorious autumn day a couple of years ago. One of the things St Clair is famous for is it's Hot Salt Water Pool, which you can see as the turquoise coloured building at the end of the beach above. The open air pool was opened in 1884, but not heated until the 1960s.
New Zealand is made up of three main islands and lots of smaller ones, so has an incredible mileage of beaches to discover and explore. St Clair in Dunedin is just one of many New Zealand attractions I hope to eventually introduce you to.
