Lost My First Post

I am honored to have been accepted to the world of Persona Paper. I have been browsing the site for a few days and am excited to now be able to participate. So far, I am really liking what I am seeing. It seems to be a wonderful community.

Just a little while ago I wrote my first post but I lost it when I got the Captcha wrong. Stupidly, I had not saved the post before trying to post it. I read somewhere in the rules that there is a restore button for when that happens but I can't find that restore button anywhere. I got an error message saying that ooops, I got the Captcha wrong but there was no button to restore the post so I had to start over. Does anyone know where that restore button is?

Those Captcha characters are so very tiny. I guess I need a magnifying glass or something. Well, I will now save this and try again. If I get the Captcha wrong again at least I won't have to type out a whole new post. My fingers are crossed.

Whoops, I just now saw the "restore article" button below the text box. I clicked it but it didn't restore my original post but rather this second post. Oh well, I will just try to remember to save my posts.....

The restore button shows up just under the post and if you click the restore and it will repopulate the box with the text.

I read somewhere within my first few days, never trust the first Captcha. Always use the little arrow and reset it. I had the same problem with losing my first post. Thankfully I had seen the Restore Article button so all was well. Hope your next post goes smoother!

If you have been typing for a long time, you are better off clicking to save it as a draft first. No captcha is required when you save as a draft. You can then go back in to your drafts folder and click the submit button for your post to be live. This will bypass the captcha code if you do it in this manner.

Also, if the captcha is unlegible, simply click the button to refresh it and it will give you another one to input.

Yes, it will only restore what is last written. It's a common thing newbies don't notice. The captcha times out after awhile so ALWAYS always just refresh the captcha when you see it.

Thank you, everyone, for the wonderful advice. You guys are great! I hereby pledge to never lose another post--and now I know how to do that.

That's happened to me a few times. I think I just click back a page and the restore button magically appears, as does your post - minus the phoro, you have to put that in again. I'm trying to teach myself to copy and save before I submit, but old habits die hard.

Perhaps you can write in Word document to prevent loss if the internet disconnect or something.

I learned to save mine before trying to post them. I also lost one that would not come back up for me with the restore button.
