NO Computer Time For YOU!

Due to where the laptop has the power button, when the cat plopped down on top of the keys, Oreo managed to do the following in order:

1. Closed all my open windows
2. Activated a feature that tiles all open windows which I STILL haven't figured out how to do.
3. Logged me out of my Google account from the Chromebook

Then, ultimately, turned off the machine.

He has this sense of entitlement now to sleep on my lap with his head resting on the bottom corner of the laptop as he purrs his way into kitty dream land.

Silly kitty! LOL He has some nerve. It's not the first time that he has plopped his body on the laptop before I even have a chance to block him. He is that fast! Of course, he can't possibly know that he did something wrong. This is the first time though that he managed to turn off the laptop. That really surprised me and I lost everything I was working on. Now, had the laptop just stayed on but still had me logged out the Chromebook desktop, I would have simply logged right back in.

Then to make matters worse he woke up to noise coming from the kitchen. Of course, he just had to walk across the laptop keys once more.... emoticon

Fortunately, the laptop didn't get shut off and I didn't lose my work again.

I am convinced he knows exactly what he is doing. It's his outcry of "pay attention to me." and "I need to be petted."

So why aren't you? why ignore the pretty kitty? :D

Louie is weird...he doesn't try to get on my keyboard, he doesn't get between me and my book, and I can leave pizza out and he won't try to eat it

I remember my cats doing stuff like this when I had my laptop. Heck, Shadow still thinks she can walk across my desktop keyboard from time to time!

I think he wants his own laptop. Perhaps he wants you to buy for him.

your kitty is very pampered and cute, he wants your attention

I think he just likes to get in the way.

That's how he has you in the palm of his hands. emoticon

It's like they are saying, "Here, I am a better view than your desktop."

CountryWine wrote on January 24, 2015, 4:11 PM

He would still want mine

Reminds me a lot of my pup. She would do the same thing to get in my lap between me and the computer.

This post made me laugh. I've had kitty cats do similar things. It's like they are attracted to the device perhaps because of the heat or energy it emits or something. Or maybe they realize that we give these devices so much of our attention they want to get between us and the device to get our attention back. You gotta love them, though. I don't have a cat right now and sure miss having one.

My dog used to do similar as this. She would force her way into my lap since she was a small breed and then I wouldn't be able to type on the screen.

Your darling Oreo sounds rather like our Smooch. Cats really do have many skills, don't they!

CountryWine wrote on January 25, 2015, 4:36 PM

Yep they do. He comes over just to bug me half the time and try to play with the cords to the electronics. Not a good thing.
