Meet Midnight

OK, a little while ago I introduced you to Shadow, now meet Midnight, her sister.

Midnight is our little skinny Minnie as I like to call her, she eats well, she just has stayed skinny like her mother was. Midnight has some rather silly personality traits, she is very shy and is a scaredy cat. She spends most of her time hiding in the bedroom, sometimes under the bed during the day until it is just me and my youngest son home. Then she will venture out slowly, as if she is sneaking up on something. The slightest noise or slightest movement she see's out of the corner of her eye will cause her to freeze, depending on the cause she either ventures on or runs bad to hide again.

Then there are times she wants to play with the string. We always know ahead of time because she meows a lot sitting by it, if we don't come to her she will drag the string out here so we will play. Oh and she will not shut up until you play with the string with her and she will go on for hours if you try to ignore her! She just loves that string.

Midnight is also the one that makes sure I get up in the morning. No matter how often she ventures around the house in the middle of the night, once morning comes she acts as if she can't leave the bedroom until I get up. She goes through this ritual of tapping me on my nose and cheek in the morning if I don't get right up after the alarm goes off. Unfortunately she seems to have her own internal alarm and likes to do this on the weekends even when the alarm isn't set.

She's our sweetie though, even though she can be demanding at times.

We have a runt that is a nervous nellie too and hides when anyone come to the house. Her sister is quite the opposite and a lot bigger too

That sounds like the exact same description of our two cats. We use those heated air fresheners and make sure to get one with a lavender scent, he seems to help a little with Shadow, but not much with Midnight.

Midnight looks such a sweetie. Our Smooch used to be a scared cat like that.

Thank you. I'm glad to hear that others had or have cats that are just as scared without having a traumatic experience, in fact she is spoiled! lol

What a cute kitty. At least you know if your alarm does not work Your kitty, Midnight will help you out.

These are the first black cats we've had, we've had many cats over the years as I have a habit of taking in strays. lol

Yes she is, of course I don't feel that way about her on weekend mornings, she just doesn't understand I don't have to be up at 6 to make sure everyone is ready.

Thank you. She has actually woke us up "on time" when we've had the power go out and then come back on. That may screw up your alarm clock but not Midnight! lol

Cats are so finicky and funny with their quirks.

Kat- wrote on January 20, 2015, 5:08 PM

Yes they are, we have 2 of these finicky felines and a spoiled rotten dog and they all just tolerate each other.

CountryWine wrote on January 20, 2015, 6:26 PM

There are four cats in this house but only one of them is finicky.

We had a black cat called Muffin (as in meadow?). It was a good old cat. It had to be. It put up with my mother-in-law!

Kat- wrote on January 21, 2015, 10:25 AM

Aw...I'm guessing you don't have Muffin anymore? Sounds like you're not a fan of your mother-in-law! lol

I think she is hungry, that's why she wants to wake you up.

Kat- wrote on January 22, 2015, 9:39 AM

Most people would think that, but we keep the cats food out all the time, they don't have appointed eating times like our dog does, so they can munch whenever they want.

Thanks. Sad that some see them as bad luck.
