My poor daughter

My daughter upgraded her contract in December 2014 and got a new iphone 6 which she loved and was very happy with.

Last night as she left her office she was walking down a well lit alley way and there were plenty of people around. She heard a moped behind her and moved over to let it pass.

Not only did it pass but the person it the moped grabbed her phone from out of her hand and rode off with it. She chased fora while but naturally a moped is faster and they got away.

Someone got the number plate but despite the fact that the police were there and saw it happen and gave chase she has still lost her phone.

Apparently there were about 15 in that immediate area so the police were on alert. they even had a helicopter out looking. they say that the moped was probably also stolen.

Sadly she did not have mobile phone insurance as it was quite a lot more per month and it seems that their house contents insurance doesn't cover it either.

These miserable B... apparently strip the stolen phones down and sell their overseas.

She has put a block on the phone so they cannot use the phone or her contract minutes etc or get any of her personal stuff. Her photos are saved on the cloud too but even so it is very annoying.

The photo I have credited is from morguefile free to use images

that is so mean. I am sorry for her. I hope they catch the guy. Her phone probably has GPS.

Sadly I think they are too clever and too quick - 15 phones in about half an hour and then they are away

I'm sorry for your daughter. It's just so aggravating that we live in a world now where people are resorting to crime more and more instead of working for things. The cops should have been on alert in the area after the 2nd theft, now your daughter and 14 others are left without their phones just because of some thugs.

That is so awful. I would check to see if it has GPS. It should being the newer one

Oh dear, the things some idiots would do for a free phone! The iphone6 is very sought after it seems. Your poor daughter. Quick thinking on her part to put a block on it!

If she hadn't they would have been able to phone anywhere in the world at her expense not to mention getting personal data from it!!

They likely will eventually catch the criminal, but it probably won't be for these crimes.

Oh that is really terrible. I hope they catch them, these people are disgusting

Your poor daughter that must have been scary for her, I hope they get the people who did it.

That is such a shame. I have read that it's a good idea not to be out walking (like your daughter was) with a phone or tablet in view for that very reason.

I am sure the phone will be retrieved since someone has noted the name plate of the moped.

The planet should have no room for people with the morals of pond life. I hope it all turns out OK in the end and they're found and stopped.

That's an awful shame, it takes all the pleasure out of having a new phone and such inconvenience to report it and block it. I saw a video of that happening one time, taken from a CCTV camera or someone's dashboard camera. They are so quick and it's difficult to avoid. I have kept my very old, text and voice only mobile phone, which is also pay as you go. So there is no incentive for it to be stolen and I don't have to fight the mobile phone company for a contract cost.

They are the lowest form of life in my view - thieves who steal from others - no excuse!
