40 Santa Ana Homes Targeted with KKK anti M.L.K. Propaganda
The Santa Ana Police Department in Orange County, California has documented and filed an incident report of 40 homes that were targeted with anti Martin Luther King, Jr. propaganda from the KKK.
Residents were not amused when they opened their doors to find a plastic bag filled with candy, a rock, a KKK flier attacking Martin Luther King, Jr. and a business card from the Loyal White Knights of the KKK. The business card stated that they were trying to go for racial purity and that they were part of the KKK. The business card also directs people their website to the group (LWK) along with the phone number to the North Carolina headquarters.
SAPD's Cpl. Anthony Bertagna stated that since there was no direct threat in the flier that no crime was actually committed. Thus, it was simply placed in an incident report. Six months prior to this incident, it was also reported, that the same propaganda appeared in homes in the city of Orange.
Bertagna believes that none of the residents were targets as victims. That it is simply propaganda. However, my personal view is that the department doesn't realize how much it effects the people who have received the bags in the first place. People with children don't want them to view such things. They shouldn't have to be exposed.
Since the incidents are six months apart, it doesn't set much of a precedent but the Orange County police department should stay on alert.
